Ever hear of an atheist needing an exorcism

    You joke, but…

Demon Spirits – The Real Root of Addiction

Growing up in the 80s/90s, I 100% heard about how everything from Heavy Metal music to D&D to Voting for Michael Dukakis caused the godless heathens to become possessed and driven to deplorable acts. Exorcisms are for people with insider access to high ranking church officials. The folks living outside of the fence - the migrants, the hippies, the drug users, the fornicators and exotic dancers, the non-believers - why do you think they have all that crime and disease and misery?

They’ve fallen out of God’s love and light. They’re all tortured souls, possessed by any number of evils.

Atheists use VPN pro max, the great firewall and the Mystic anti-virus against both demons and angels thus remaining in the protective shadow, which keeps their minds free of spam and souls unharmed from malware.

    It is a bit silly.

But the reason is; the faithful are the prize. The unfaithful are already damned; why would the demons bother with those already going to hell?

I’m a lifelong atheist; it is all just superstition; but the logic is not flawed in this case.

          Just more unbiblical shit.

First they made up hell as fan fic, then they made up ways for innocents to go there.

I’m an atheist, but even I know that everyone deserves salvation according to the Bible. Jesus is extremely clear on that lol.

I don’t think anyone has been a victim of demonic possession, ever, actually.

Psychosis projected outwards maybe. Although I did get thrown against a wall and strangled by an invisible force at age 18 when my roommate and her friends were using a ouiji board, so there’s that.

I also psyched myself into remembering magic stuff when I was an impressionable child and my family visited friends who were into Reiki.

They’re all hardcore covid deniers and generally conspiracy nuts now, so good thing we didn’t continue forcing ourselves to deny reality in favor of woo.

Did you ever notice how in the Bible, when ever God needed to punish someone, or make an example, or whenever God needed a killing, He sent an angel? Did you ever wonder what a creature like that must be like? A whole existence spent praising your God, but always with one wing dipped in blood. Would you ever really want to see an angel? Yes, the MacNeils were not a religious family at all in either the book or movie. Kind of an ironic pairing of text and imagery here.

Glossolalia is actually a fascinating subject. It’s like the faithful trying to hack into the part of the brain that produces religious experiences, which is the same part targeted by LSD, Ayahuasca, E, etc, but without chemicals. I expect there are other aspects of shared worship and ritual like chanting that tap into something.

You ever notice how apple pickers use tools to get apples out of trees that haven’t fallen yet?

Wait, but if one of the goals is to make people not believe, why would the demons give them more reasons to believe? I can only imagine that if such an event were real, it would strengthen people’s faith.

And, like, usually a demonic possession in popular lore makes the people say and do ugly things like walk on walls, brood alone, and turn their stomachs out at priests. Wouldn’t a demonic possession that made you party with cocaine and have orgies while going on killing sprees be more effective? And would it really be effective at sending you to hell if the demon was always in control instead of luring the person to do it themselves with their own free will? Surely St. Peter would understand it wasn’t the person doing it themselves?

      I have so many questions.

Unfortunately, unlike Courtney Love, I am not a walking study in demonology, so I’m not entirely capable of understanding their motives.

Show me yourself wearing a shirt with that visible all day during work hours in the office and not getting weird looks or weirdly less looks or a call from HR (depending upon the scale of your company).
Alternatively, you could put it on a poster in the office. During work of course.

NSFW has come to have 2 meanings.
Even though the 2nd meaning is what people tend to mean nowadays, the original meaning is still in use in some places.

That’s the reason why something can be fine for children to view, while still being NSFW.
