No Stupid Questions@lemmy.world•What impact is the whole vegetarian/vegan diet having on the price of meat?
8·4 days agoImpact on price: probably negligible.
Impact on production: the average amount of meat that 1 person eats x the number of people choosing alternatives, over a period of time.
I’ll have to remember this, thanks.
Don’t most games keep save files separately from the main game files?
I don’t have much experience searching like that yet and still default to using the gui for navigating directories… I’m still a relative linux noob.
Oh! Good to know!
That’s very logical, I just wish it was more readable, especially that subfolder after compatdata that’s just numbers. I’m pretty sure that directory was full of folders with non-descript numbers on my pc, and the only way to proceed to the windows-style filesystem was to guess + check or have a reference to match it.
I haven’t used Bazzite, but I recently needed to find my save data on PopOS for a steam game that runs with proton, and it was so buried in subfolders that I only found it after asking chatgpt.

People Twitter@sh.itjust.works•Outsourcing your thinking to AI is a... choice.
57·11 days agoHonestly, I know that people dislike twitter/X, but the ability to summon grok in the comments to look up info that people are arguing about is a cool feature. It’s like an anti “firehose of falsehood” tool.

57·11 days agoIt’s funny to laugh about right now, but it’s genuinely worrying.
In addition to all the expected work uses, people are also using it for their emails, help with flirting over DMs, writing their vows, winning arguments, etc.

345·12 days agoThe first part is (hopefully) tongue-in-cheek: “foid” or “moid” are variations of a pejorative for “female” or “male” that started unironically in incel circles, but I mostly see it used ironically in memes like this now: similar to others like “Chad, Stacey, Alpha, Sigma” that came from the same place.
Tech is just technique. Calling a new thing you can do a “tech” comes from gaming circles, like how speed runners find strategies to optimize their runs.

17·14 days agoI don’t know if it came from elsewhere first, but it’s not very common nowadays in the US.
It’s old-fashioned, and it’s not like the woman’s parents have the authority to say ‘no’. It’s more like a gesture of humility, then a “we accept you into our family” sort of thing. If someone does it these days, it’s probably in the south and with a really traditional family who they’re trying to impress.
I’ve had good luck with steam games, although I mostly play older titles these days and not online multiplayer.

How would it not be? Every industry creates product to meet demand. They aren’t going to produce more or less just for fun.
