Here’s an article on where the Proton checkbox is in the Steam settings. Just now I’m playing CIV4 and I had completely forgotten to think that it probably doesn’t work on Linux. Because it does now, absolutely fine :)
(The original FFVII doesn’t, though. But that’s the only Windows game I’ve encountered to not work!)
If you use Steam, there’s an option in the settings to always enable using Proton to handle Windows games. Works very well! Many games work faster than on Windows, but sometimes there are minor bugs.
Im sure there are others. Looking forward to what everyone else says!
…Also Beans. Yeah didn’t expect that.
It may seem like we all run Linux, but some people run BSD too.
Ah yes, devil Linux.
Ill see myself out.
At some point im going to have to give it a try. I like playing around with alternative OSes for fun (like 9front, UXN, LFS, etc…).
At the end of the day bsd and linux are cousins.
some also uses illumos :)
I believe that the unix_surrealism guy is a BSD person.
I recently posted the question “What’s an unpopular UI opinion you have?” and I think it’s interesting the spread of OSes people are talking about:

I saw that thread! I really appreciated how I disagreed with a lot of the opinions there, it felt like a thread of actually unpopular opinions
it really feels like reddit in 2009
It really does.
I dual boot because I still haven’t figured out how to game on Linux because im dumb :P
