I grew up in rural Illinois. We heard of real farm accidents all the time growing up. Usually a classmate.

I recall some kid dying this way. Another one got caught by a combine harvester machine and chewed up to pulp almost instantly. Was a little brother of a girl in my class.

    Farm shit is scary.

    Tractors.

    Barn lofts.

    Pitchforks hidden in straw piles.

    Grain mills.

    All those machines.

Water towers also death traps for the ballzy kids who climbed into them.

Also everyone in the country had an old well out back that at least one kid had died in. Usually just a big ass hole in the ground with some wood planks covering it.

Damn kids died all the time.

Another Illinoisan checking in. I detassled with a kid who died this way one summer. He was like 17. Do NOT fuck around with corn silos. Have a classmate who’s kid had his pantleg get caught in a tractor’s PTO (I think - it may have been something connected to it)… absolutely tore his leg up and almost bled out (reconstructed and he’s walking now). And knew another dude who had a tractor roll over on him on a slope. I personally, sank the end of a razor sharp derogueing hook into my thumb and narrowly avoided lopping it right off. It’s dangerous fucking work and demands your respect and constant attention.

Heard of a kid getting kicked in the head by a horse and was brain dead afterwards.

Always told not to stand behind horses. Now I’m letting you all know why.

I wonder how many servings of high fructose corn syrup and corn oil we’ve all consumed that contained FDA-appproved trace amounts of liquefied human?
