While mired in controversy from all sides, the Walt Disney Company has unveiled price hikes for Disney+ and its other streaming services today.
As of October 21, Disney+ will cost up to 20 percent more, depending on the plan you have. Disney+ with ads is increasing from $10 to $12 per month, while the ad-free plan is going from $16 to $19 per month. The annual, ad-free plan will go from $160 to $190.
I don’t know just how many people have quit from the Jimmy Kimmel controversy, but at least now Disney can say that the unsubscribers are doing it because of the price hike.
I think you put your finger on exactly what his happening here. Justify the lack of subscriptions to the investors by promising them revenue will go up when people start accepting the price hike and subs go up again (which we all know will happen anyway)
I naively assume they boosted the subscription rate so that they have more funds to legally fight the FCC cancelling ABCs broadcast licence.
Just stay unsubscribed. 🤷♂️
Gotta make up for all those cancelled subscriptions over the weekend.
And yet my $0 non-subscription remains the same price
It’s a bold strategy cotton, let’s see if it pays off.
