Their software is getting less stable with each release, while the amount of crammed in features is going up.
I agree that you may be having this personal experience. On the other hand, I am not and have been using iOS for many years. The difference could be that I intentionally stay very informed about iOS.
I, personally, will not throw the baby out with the bathwater.
However, if you believe that you will have better experiences using Android, then please make the switch.
Back in 2007 (After many years of making a career out of using Microsoft/Windows products) I started using Linux and MacOS/iOS exclusively and have never looked back.
I have very little experience and/or knowledge of Android. So, I can’t comment on that.

Would you, please, explain why you are considering switching from iOS to Android?
Like Twitter and Mastodon, it’s a micro-blogging platform. You could use it like I do which is just to read specific subjects. If you want to use it in more of a social way, then I couldn’t advise you on that since I don’t use it in that way.
However, it may just take time getting used to how it’s laid out as opposed to a link aggregator such as Beehaw.
They may add that later.
I feel like I need to create a new user and start over.
That may be easier for you and you’re welcome.
Google’s “Discovery” feed
Did you mean Bluesky’s?
I haven’t had a lot of success with the discovery feed. You could try a third party app such as Skeets.
I understand. Different strokes for different folks. I mainly use it to read about things I’m interested in like scientific fields such as space exploration.
I’d suggest using Bluesky in ways that most people wouldn’t think about.
For example, you could use it to keep up to date about local events in your geographic area. Another example would be to follow a very unique subject such as macrophotography.
Welcome to Beehaw!
I was a beta tester for Bluesky so I’ve been using it for a long time. I have ZERO problems. As far as I can tell users have 100% control over their feed. What exactly is making your experience ‘not fun’?
I hope most people here realize that most of our societal problems are a direct result of oligarchs. The 1% that rule over everyone else with their unimaginable wealth.
They are very happy keeping the other 99% fighting amongst themselves while they extract even more wealth.
The fight for American democracy is a fight against oligarchs.
And I’m sure some of us could make the case on a global level as well.

How could I forget about the utility of our public library!?!?! Thanks for the reminder and take care.

But it doesn’t help that I live in a conservative area that doesn’t have many intellectual or techy people. I will probably end up driving to a big city for a once or twice a month meeting.
Soon I will have to be doing the same. It’s a little over an hour drive one way. Do you have any recommendations about how to find an interest group?

Sorry to hear that you’re having a tough time. Hang in there brother. This too will pass. You will make it through this.

I used to love that software!
Thank you for sharing your difficulties with us. I truly hope things work out for you and I believe that they will.
