They could and should just make their own “NEW COMMUNITIES” community/ meta community for discussion around the whole instance

I was slightly critical of this post and tone, buuuut after checking all the recent posts…it is quite excessive.
I think the general post about the new instance is perfect, and maybe including a link to a nsfw specific ‘new communities’ sub that’s part of the new instance.
Yep. It’s not about policing or moralising but that this is getting out of hand with spamming of all the porn communities that of course are super important for their creators.
If I interpret this comment and this comment correctly, this may be a feature of PieFed that automatically (or with a checkbox?) announces new communities to this one, so the people who are doing this might not be completely aware that this is what they are doing and might end up not reading this post.

Nah it’s more than thst. Some of us want to see nsfw stuff occasionally but not have our feed filled up with shout-outs to various niche porn communities.

Lemmy doesn’t offer a community-specific NSFW filter. It’s all or nothing, and “NSFW” is a broad category that includes other things in other communities that people do want to continue seeing.
Yes. One on the particular instance should be sufficient. People looking for porn will know to check out the announcements on that instance.

You might try changing the sort or filter to new or hot. Mine was defaulted to active I think, and no posts loaded until I adjusted sorting.
Like Lemmynsfw before it, you have to sub and view the content from your local instance, or make an account on the nsfw instance, it seems.

There’s been a couple different accounts that do it, just block the account the first one time you see it, because they’ll keep doing it till they’re banned then make a new account.
Most likely its just one person who likes putting NSFW places it’s not meant to be, which is why they were/are using porn pics as thumbnails so they show up on /all
I just blocked the entire domain honestly, it’s what you need to do if you really want to prevent it.

Still, I don’t think it needs to be standard procedure to announce every fringe porn community. As stated above, the audience will find it. And it is unnecessary for new people to the Fediverse getting the impression that this is what it is all about.
I suggest a live in peace treaty with porn instances. Do your thing, I really don’t care. Let people subscribe to whatever communities where they are federated. Again, I really do not care. But please block the instances dedicated to porn from posting anywhere else. There is really no benefit to it except the weirdos that not separate their porn addiction from regular social context.

I don’t have an account there and I have no interest in arguing with people that live with porn 24/7 why the rest of us aren’t prudes for wanting to be able to scroll through social media without being bombarded with porn. Again, I don’t mind porn, but it doesn’t have to be everywhere and all the time.
Why don’t you showcase and amplify uses of the Fediverse that you find novel and compelling even louder and drown the other announcements out?
