im not sure about lemmys interface but with niche communities that are active but real light. like no posts for weeks. well anyway I finally realized I could, at least with piefed, click this bell icon and get a notice for every post. Its pretty awesome for low post communities but of course anything with decent traction it would be a nightmare to turn on.

Im in the us and one side is so ludicrous I can’t even pretend its legitimate. So I have discourse with various levels of left and center and im old enough to remember some semblence of conservative philosophy when it had some legitamacy but you don’t encounter it anymore. You see much of our conversations and arguments have some fundamental things that the arguer has as postulates. Often times someone can not accept an argument because at its core is a postulate that they do not agree with.

both is kinda hard to deal with. You sorta need places to meet people in real space. I have never been anywhere though were there were not places to go.

I don’t use it. I have not used the terminal much except for specific admin type commands and running scripts since the teens started. I really was trying to look for terminal things that could funtion like a gui. in particular email. I wanted the calendar function. I finally gave up and accepted gui as the main interface.

I like the terminal but I like decentralization more.

Its honestly really common. Most people sorta mostly believe in their religion and sorta pick and choose whats important to them about it and often grab add ons they come across. A heavily catholic hispanic area I lived in had these psychics who would integrate catholic saints into their thing and make it semi religious and plenty of religious catholics took it in as a thing.

it would reduce it quite a bit. the whole house of cards economic thing not being a thing would help to.

Chicago is like this. every single stellar event we get cloud cover and its not like we are known for being a cloudy rainy place. just every time when something neat in the sky to see.
