What about, in the middle of your special times session, a barrage of political discussion, news reports, Gaza footage, imagery of children starving, oceans dying because of pollution, and just when you are about to shoot your special milk, your porn content is replaced with grandmas playing Christmas plays.

If I interpret this comment and this comment correctly, this may be a feature of PieFed that automatically (or with a checkbox?) announces new communities to this one, so the people who are doing this might not be completely aware that this is what they are doing and might end up not reading this post.

Why not just tag the posts NSFW and let users filter out NSFW posts if they don’t want to see them?
Cuz it’s not about not seeing it it’s about controlling other people. The I use that filter and I’ve never had a problem. Don’t see anything even remotely like what they’re talking about. They choose not to so that they can bitch and try to force others to be the way they want them to be.

As someone who browses /all, I have no problem viewing the image/link if you post from the community, but posting the community itself, on that instance, isn’t helping anybody. Maybe just post the instance once a day and list the new communities it has? But posting each new community isn’t really doing anything.
I’m all for people posting communities here, but if there’s nothing in the community/I can’t see it, my time’s been wasted and I’m gonna drop the rare downvote.
As for porn, I don’t much care either way, but I’d like to see some more female-friendly porn. Not because I’m female (I’m not; cis/het male here), but because the dehumanising and objectification hasn’t been “hot” for me for decades. If it ever was. At least show the gal getting something out of it.
Does FediNSFW have an equivalent community? It does kinda make sense to at least temporarily block these posts, and maybe sticky a link there instead.

Lemmy doesn’t offer a community-specific NSFW filter. It’s all or nothing, and “NSFW” is a broad category that includes other things in other communities that people do want to continue seeing.

You might try changing the sort or filter to new or hot. Mine was defaulted to active I think, and no posts loaded until I adjusted sorting.

There’s been a couple different accounts that do it, just block the account the first one time you see it, because they’ll keep doing it till they’re banned then make a new account.
Most likely its just one person who likes putting NSFW places it’s not meant to be, which is why they were/are using porn pics as thumbnails so they show up on /all

Still, I don’t think it needs to be standard procedure to announce every fringe porn community. As stated above, the audience will find it. And it is unnecessary for new people to the Fediverse getting the impression that this is what it is all about.
I suggest a live in peace treaty with porn instances. Do your thing, I really don’t care. Let people subscribe to whatever communities where they are federated. Again, I really do not care. But please block the instances dedicated to porn from posting anywhere else. There is really no benefit to it except the weirdos that not separate their porn addiction from regular social context.

I don’t have an account there and I have no interest in arguing with people that live with porn 24/7 why the rest of us aren’t prudes for wanting to be able to scroll through social media without being bombarded with porn.
