Elections aren’t a sporting event where a candidate “loses”. It’s actually the people who are the competing athletes.

The American people chose to elect the child rapist.

I think they’re referring to the DNC’s insistence on a transparently corporatist neoliberal agenda who’s candidates are barely electable versus even open fascists, and their habit of deflecting blame for continual strategic failure onto constituents.

and their habit of deflecting blame for continual strategic failure onto constituents.

It’s called a primary. Biden/Kamala were the options because people chose them in the 2016 primary. But even with the DNC picked corporatist that wasn’t primaried it shouldn’t have mattered because a monkey flinging poop should have been elected over the child rapist. But America chose the child rapist.

Alright then. That means there’s some obvious follow-up questions to explore: Are Americans just fundamentally bad? Or, are there popular grievances in America that it’s institutional systems prevent or otherwise fail to address, resulting in pressure releasing as perverse outcomes? Or, is there some sort of corruption in American culture which is causing those perverse outcomes? Something else? Basically, what is inspiring Americans to make these choices that you say earn them the collective blame for the downfall of their nation?

Imo the problem is that all media is almost completely controlled by the Republican party. It’s incoherent that Republicans are always the ones to use “Mainstream media” as a slur when Right wing media has 80% market share control.

What is this mental gymnastic nonsense? Elections are contests that absolutely do have winners and losers. You’re also claiming in your first sentence that “elections aren’t a sporting event” but then call the people “athletes”

That user is correct that the DNC shares all the blame with the RNC and Trump for what we’re now experiencing. They’ve demonstrated election after election that they’re unwilling to govern this country correctly and do what needs to be done to fix the mess we’ve been falling into for decades. It’s always complete inaction, excuses, or half-measures that do little more than generate good PR. If they had accomplished anything truly meaningful in all this time, half the voting population wouldn’t be looking to a child rapist as “the better option.”

Not surprising. People would rather keep their heads buried in the sand and do nothing than actually face reality. Best to just plug your ears and keep repeating the same tired, thought-terminating clichés than face some hard truths.

I literally never once uttered those words but go ahead and keep deflecting from the real issues.

You appear to share the same magical thinking, faith-based belief system as someone who donates money to televangelists thinking that will make god will fix their problems for them despite all evidence pointing to the contrary. “It hasnt worked the last one hundred times I’ve done it but surely this time will be different. How dare you suggest I try literally anything else. That’s the devil talking!”

You ignored the important modifier to the sentence which is, “where the candidate loses”.

That is it isn’t a sporting event between candidates. It is a sporting event between the people. The candidate isn’t the athlete. The candidate is the goal that the people kick their ball into.

You’re not going to stop fascism by attacking those that are opposing it.

American culture has become rotten. It’s all about greed and laziness. The real winner of the last election was laziness. More people didn’t vote than voted for either candidate. Then there was those that voted for a fascist under the false belief they would somehow share in the profit from being cruel to others. Over 2/3 of Americans were either hoping to profit from cruelty or were too lazy to prevent it.

I’m not American and I’ll tell you that the Democratic party is a completely normal political party in a democratic system. All parties in democratic countries are like that. The reason you hate them is because deep down you just hate democracy.

Americans are incapable of any kind of introspection, so you just look for someone to blame rather than recognize how rotten American culture is. You’re just not the brave freedom loving democratic people that you loudly proclaim to the world you are. You’re cowardly, greedy, lazy, and hypocritical people. You’ll never improve your country if you just go on looking for scapegoats rather than taking a cold hard look at what America is really all about. The first step is admitting you have a problem and you can’t do that.

You’re not going to stop fascism by attacking those that are opposing it.

Outside of performative bullshit like tweets and angry signs, they don’t oppose it and that is precisely the problem. How you can see a Democrat pass Republican bill after Republican bill and call that “opposition” is beyond me.

The real winner of the last election was laziness. More people didn’t vote than voted for either candidate.

You’ll need to actually demonstrate that people abstained from voting due to laziness and not apathy or disillusionment due precisely to the very lack of action from the supposed “good guys” that I mentioned previously for this claim to hold up. You might also be surprised to learn that polling shows there wouldn’t have been a difference in the outcome even if every eligible person voted

I’m not American and I’ll tell you that the Democratic party is a completely normal political party in a democratic system.

Can you elaborate on specifically which democratic system consists of the same two right-wing parties fighting for dominance each election? Do you really think you’re more in tune with how things work here than someone who actually lives here?

The reason you hate them is because deep down you just hate democracy.

It is me who “hates democracy” and not the person arguing that everything is “completely normal” and that we need to keep electing the very same people who got us into this mess? That’s laughable.

Americans are incapable of any kind of introspection, so you just look for someone to blame rather than recognize how rotten American culture is.

Says the person refusing to critically analyze the performance of the so-called “opposition party” and instead wants to blame decades worth of unaddressed issues on the single individual occupying the White House for the past year? American culture is rotten and that’s because our representatives made it that way for their and their donor’s own personal gain.

You’ll never improve your country if you just go on looking for scapegoats rather than taking a cold hard look at what America is really all about. The first step is admitting you have a problem and you can’t do that.

This coming from the person who just told me that our leaders are “normal” and who’s trying to chastise me for trying to address the actual problem? That’s quite contradictory.

Sure is interesting how you’re seeing a lot more of that same rhetoric ever since the Epstein files and they’re obvious cover-up has become bigger and bigger news. It’s almost like they were given marching orders.

I don’t know how you can look at all the pictures and video clips of Biden creeping on girls, read testimony from some of them from the past who have grown up, know that Epstein’s Island wasn’t some politically partisan affair (how the fuck did Trump suck off Bill Clinton at an Epstein event if Bill wasn’t there)… and decide that of all fucking people, Joe fucking Biden deserves the benefit of the doubt on being a pedo.

Hands down he was better than the sack of fat and bronzer we have now. That doesn’t mean he wasn’t an obvious as fuck pedo.

It is in fact possible to understand the horrors of the Democrat fuckstains while understanding the Republicans are monumentally worse.

            More than likely.

Democrats won’t run anyone who’ll bring in change, not enough will vote in primaries to put those who would bring change in and they’ll all shift blame from themselves for the actions their country takes under the current president, who they elected.
