    Phil said:

I posted this silly video as an inside joke for my daughter, Sarah. I posed in Cleveland eating a taco. For decades, and TOTALLY AS A JOKE, whenever I want to mention a place nobody wants to go, I say “Cleveland”. It goes back to the jokes in the comedy baseball movie Major League and the old Drew Cary TV show. Both are set in Cleveland and make jokes about the city.

The other part of the inside joke is that don’t like to eat hard shell tacos. You bite into them and they crumble and leak all over you. I like the flavor, just not the eating experience.

SO, it became a running joke between my daughter and I that the last thing I’d ever want to do is eat a taco in Cleveland.

I personally have nothing against Cleveland. I enjoyed myself while I was there. I did several other videos in Cleveland when I visited there in 2016. If tacos didn’t crumble, I’d like them too. I eat lots of burritos.

I never explained what the inside joke was, because it was something only a very few people knew about. It is just me being silly.

i don’t have the rest of the meme screenshotted, but the joke is that the guy hates Cleveland for some reason and ALSO hates hard shelled tacos because they fall apart. It become an inside joke to combine those two things say as a sort of “when pigs fly” type of thing. He visited Cleveland and took a video of him eating a hard shelled taco for the inside joke.

Reportedly he had a great time in Cleveland.

Formerly of ohio, now of the southwest:

Ohio’s Mexican food is fine. Better than it has any right to be, not great though. I’ve found better tex-mex in Toledo, OH than in Houston, Tx (Houston’s tex-mex is kinda shit though).

I have never seen real Mexican food in the US worth having outside of my half-cousin’s Abuelito’s kitchen.

Yeah I’m not the person to speak on good Mexican food as an Ohioan who moved to the PNW but you can get pretty decent Mexican food in Columbus. Yeah it’s americanized, but it’s good. And Candado is good for what it is.

My dad grew up in Ohio, so when he was alive we would go there annually for a family reunion and, in the days surrounding the reunion, just kind of wander the surrounding areas.

My introduction to Magic: The Gathering was stepping into a thrift shop in Akron and discovering the entire (at the time) collection of books in a box for … I don’t remember the exact price, but an eminently affordable cost. I don’t much care for the game, but I definitely enjoyed working my way through the book series.
