Hey all!

Apologies for no thread last week. Really just forgot and eventually it was too late and figured I’d wait. But we’re back! For me, I am finally playing Baldurs Gate 3! And yeah the game is really good lmao. Idk why I’ve waited so long :)

just at the tail end of being obsessed with Hollow Knight (after having owned it since the Switch came out in 2017, but could never get past the 1st boss, so never played it) - since then played a bit of Elden Ring, half of Dark Souls 1, then started a bit of Silksong (beat 1st boss 1st try), but I’ve kinda hit a wall - I’ve explored the whole map except one map-region, and just have like 7 bosses to beat…

Playing Silksong now, also I started Pokemon Z-A 3 days before it was released ; on a hacked switch , hehehe

Playing Dynasty Warriors 8 Empires. Made a whole bunch of vocaloid custom characters + Teto, my final goal is to assemble all of them to conquer China. Also Miku is using a weapon that has an attack where she tosses someone to the ground and snaps their neck which is really funny.

Zeepkist. It’s nice to play something that’s absolutely zero stakes every once in awhile. Race the clock in a soapbox derby car with a cute lil character, crash a few times, unlock some interesting stuff.

Mostly FFXIV. I decided to try a new class: Rogue/Ninja. Kinda impromptu, but I needed way to sneak by some baddies in the new-ish “Occult Crescent” field exploration zone. And Ninja has an ability to slowly stealth walk, going undetected by mobs.

And Oh. My. God. I’d forgotten how awful it is to level a class from 0 to 50. I haven’t done this since I did my initial class as Thaumaturge/Black Mage. Which would’ve been like 3-4yrs ago? I have other classes – technically, Jobs – to max level (Lvl 100), but those classes all start at higher levels. FFXIV is weird like that; classes from expacs 3.0 and up start at higher levels. Like Machinist at Lvl 30, Red Mage (which is my main) at Lvl 50, and one of the most recent classes, Pictomancer, at Lvl 80. I was also playing those classes/job while going through the game’s Main Story Quest, so I didn’t “notice” the grind. I was just playing the MSQ, the game, normally.

As such, I’ve really not tried to quickly grind from Lvl 1 before. And the game doesn’t help. No access to dungeons and trials until Lvl 15. And overall a very limited selection until Lvl 50. No AoE attacks until somewhere in mid-30s! Barely any attacks in the kit, until Lvl 30 (when the Ninja job opens up).

For EXP, had to grind out leves, dungeons, FATEs, and random quests. I’m not against grinding, it’s just a boring-ass grind.

Anyway, I got to Lvl 50 yesterday, so now things should start get less boring. Lvl 50 on its own opens up like 30+ instances of various kinds. And there are tons more opportunities from there til Lvl 100. My goal is to get to 100 within the next two weeks. Could probably do it this week, but I don’t wanna go that hard.

Still playing Monster Hunter World: Iceborne, I’m in Master Rank 5* missions now and slowly grinding through, not sure how much farther I’ll keep playing, but it’s still kind of fun.

I’ve also been dipping into the original Hades, I bounced off this game before because it was so grindy, buy I’m following some build guides now and I’ve managed to defeat Hades once, so I’ll stick with it some more.

I finished Resident Evil: Village. I was a bit skeptical at first since I don’t really care for the more action RE games from 4 onward, but I ended up really enjoying it.

Other than that, I’m playing Project Diva. I’m trying to get past 8* extremes but I’m struggling with reading, especially when chords appear.

I spent a lot of time trying to set up Sound Voltex with wine and could only get it to work in Bottles using wine-ge, as otherwise gstreamer wouldn’t load the proper codecs. I ended up getting a spare drive and installing windows on it which I’ll keep around for situations like these.

I’ve started Death Stranding. It’s quite interesting, very calm and relaxing. At least until the enemies arrive.

Still grinding World of Warcraft: Legion Remix. Less raiding this week, I’m only clearing each raid twice a day, instead of three times, but did a couple more Mythic+ dungeons to knock out achievements.

The next phase will start in a few days, along with “new” quests, but more importantly another raid to farm every day. At that point, I’ll probably only be running the raids on the highest difficulty, and skip all the others.

Can’t wait for a new generation to rediscover the exciting fun of having to survive Kil’Jaeden’s balls and whatever that darkness phase is even supposed to be, despite the boss technically hitting 1 HP in 5 seconds.

I basically skipped Legion back in the day, because of how ass the Legendary system was on launch, and never went back, so I never really did any of the raids.

I guess you mean getting knocked around by some orbs, which might instantly kill you because you fall off the platform? Stuff like that is basically the only thing that could be an issue.

From what I read in different comments, the final raid, Antorus, is supposed to have another boss, that could be a problem, Eonar.

Blizzard has actually changed one boss so far (Il’gynoth, where you have to use some blobs to blow up this big eye), although that was probably more because people deal too much damage and would regularly blow up the blobs on accident, the second they spawn, which was just annoying and extended the fight needlessly. Maybe they’ll do more changes, since you can clear these raids daily for the time of the event.
