    Imagine that you are one the few people who legimately cared about Charlie Kirk dying. You’re currently grieving the death of a loved. You manage to sit through all the talking heads give eulogies (who probably don’t give a shit about your loved one). The last person to give an eulogy is the fucking President, not Erika Kirk nor a parent nor a sibling. The god damn President who starts you rambling about the cure for Autism, Jimmy Kimmel, and what evers pops into Trumpie’s mind. An eulogy that lasted well over a hour.

    How fucking surreal it would be to watch the President fucking ramble at a person’s funeral, a person who you actually legimately cared for. I know I wouldn’t how to handle that.

    Also, people started leaving the memorial during Trumpie’s eulogy.

    As an autistic, with an autistic wife and child, wouldn’t it be fascinating if they were right! Paracetamol changing brains would be big news.

    But they are just scapegoating and now they are going to punish women with autistic children for poisoning their children in utero.

      Want to reduce autism? Reduce pollution. But this is the guy that’s dismantling all environmental regulations.

      Exposure to fine particulate air pollution (PM2.5) has been linked with significantly increased risk of autism spectrum disorder (ASD) in children, particularly if exposure occurs during the third trimester of pregnancy or during early childhood, according to a meta-analysis from Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health.

      The study was published April 29, 2021, in Environmental Research Letters.

      The authors noted that there has been a steep rise in the prevalence of childhood diagnosis of ASD over the past several years, from 6.7 per 1,000 people in 2000 to 16.8 per 1,000 people in 2014. Possible risk factors include those related to family, such as genetics or parental age, or the environment. Previous studies have found an association between exposure to ambient particulate matter (PM) and neurobehavioral dysfunction, but they’ve been inconclusive regarding the link between PM exposure and the development of ASD.

        That sounds like a lot of work, and making air clean is hard. You know whats not hard? Blaming minorities. No more minorities, no more Autism. In fact getting rid of them will CURE autism! Because we will change how its diagnosed so it changes your skin colour. If you arent blue, its not autism, its vitamin C difficiency. The C being Church.

    What I do not get is, what is wrong with autism and why do they want to ‘cure’ it? Everyone is different. It shouldn’t be a big deal.

      Non-verbal, debilitating autism is extremely difficult. I wouldn’t wish that on anyone. It’s like asking what’s wrong with schizophrenia and “why do they want to ‘cure’ it”?

      Autism is a spectrum (for now; it’s the best terminology we have at the moment), and at one end you have severe debility. I don’t think a “cure” is possible in the way we think, but better treatment options would be life-saving

      I’m some form of neurodivergent myself and have traits that overlap with autism. Someone I love is non-verbal and currently going through the straights with their disability. I see ways in which we share symptoms, but I also see a huge divide between us, in the severity of them

      I would give anything to get the best help for my loved one, because they’ll never be able to have any independence without 24hr care. And that’s what we’re working towards. But if there was some “cure” that would allow them to communicate more… I can’t even describe what a miracle that would be for so many people. It’s a hard thing to see someone go through sometimes, and it can actually be a very big deal

      People are marginally more susceptible to distraction from bright lights and loud noises. For young children, this can be upsetting enough to interfere with their education and behavior. And that’s frustrating and terrifying to parents, as they see failures in both as signs of a very difficult adulthood.

      So, in the quest to solve this inconvenience, we’re going to open up the infernal gate to Nurgel’s Lair.

    Yay, so all those scientists who’ve been working diligently on this for decades we’re all wrong, president Cheeto fixed this within a month!

    Of course this is absolutely true, he also ended those seven wars in that time, I mean the guy is a friggin genius!

    One study has shown a link between tylenol, others have not. But even if there is a link, there is no causality shown, so it might be the case that having a fever plays a part, so statistics would show a link with tylenol but it would be more beneficial to take it than not, in order to lessen the fever. I don’t imagine orange idiot has the mental capacity for this sort of complex reasoning.

      Yeap, one small scale meta data analysis isn’t going to be able to prove causality. Plus, the analysis was done by a researcher who’s been actively participating in a lawsuit against the makers of Tylenol.

      The problem with using meta data analysis is they struggle with causation vs correlation. As you suggested, it could have to do with fevers. Or it could simply be that mothers who have high quality access to gynecological services and prenatal care good enough to study umbilical samples also have greater access to diagnose their children with autism later in life.

      Large scale metadata analysis can provide us with information we can use to hone in on what to study in greater depth. Small scale metadata analysis imo aren’t’ very useful in any meaningful way, and are more often than not used to subjectively validate claims to the scientifically illiterate majority.

    He said he had an answer for autism, he doesn’t mean a cure. Stay safe any day now he going have RJK announce that he will be rounding them up, and also stop testing for it. A a Trump favorite.
