From what I’m gathering, it seems like one group is more “traditionally” American racism… And the other group is more like WW2 Nazi racists?

Either way, they’re racists and not worth the oxygen they’re consuming.

Can I just continue to have incredible distain for all racism? Because I’d hate to be branded as a sympathizer to either group. They both sound horrible.

The only surprising thing to me here is that racists hate eachother enough for this level of violence. I don’t necessarily consider that a bad thing, I just thought they would… I dunno, bond over their mutual hatred of other races, rather than fight eachother over who is more racist.

… Not that I’m complaining. Having racists kill other racists makes it easier to fight against the groups that remain. Both groups of racists deserve to be put down. Not that I have the ability, capability, opportunity nor motivation to do that work myself… I’m just not going to complain when one group kills the other, and the first group ends up in jail for life because of it. Honestly, that’s an absolute win IMO.

So the one thing about fascism, especially in its late stages, is that it tends to eat itself alive. When they run out of enemies, they create enemies.

I mean the government isn’t necessarily late stage but if the fascists are fighting over who’s the biggest fascist that means shit’s up.

Maybe, but authoritarian regimes do often purge their ranks, and it doesn’t always mean anything significant is going down.

While I agree fascist tend to indulge in self harm via factionalism, I don’t think this is really that, nor is it late stage. We’re approaching the stage where the fascist shed their traditional conservative mask and start enforcing their real ideology over the traditional conservative party.

People forget that 4 years before the Nazi started their purge on greater German society during Kristallnacht they first purged and consolidated power in their own house during the night of the long knives.

My one consolation over finding out about this whole fight between different groups of fascists (besides the fact that the fascists are fighting each other, that’s always a net positive) is that I can refer to it as gang violence.

Kirk was killed in a turf war between his gang and a rival gang immediately after trying to downplay mass shootings by asking “with or without gang violence?”

In late 2022 and early 2023, the Groyper movement shifted away from its longtime position of supporting Trump and instead began promoting Kanye West’s presidential campaign.

        How does this …even fit

Thanks for this! I noticed when I share in detail, there’s still commenters (who get highly upvoted) that argue with what I discovered. Especially when it’s so ridiculously cartoonish like whatever this Groyper movement is.

So I elected to share it and go, “Dog, this info is wild y’all gotta do your own research because wtf.”

Fortunately for this one, Wikipedia has a lot of good detail about them. And in the future, I’ll remember to share those links if I spot them and they’re highly credible.

It’s about whether you hate Jewish people the right way or not. It has nothing to do with brown people as both groups equally hate them.

Kirk supports Israel and Fuentes and the groypers do not.

Basically Kirk was MAGA, the shooter was from a group called ‘groypers’ led by Nick Fuentes. There’s an online meme ‘persona’ of sorts called Pepe, who I guess the groypers use as a mascot. Which is a shame as some of the Pepe content is pretty awesome. It’s the punisher skull shit all over again. Anyway, infighting between facist groups, groypers being the more extreme far right group, which I didn’t think was possible but here we are.

It’s so true. Conservatives are so uncreative that they miss the most basic elements of storytelling that most of us grasp as children.

They haven’t made anything creative of their own since the swastika, and even that was stolen from Hindus. All they do is take take take, and then ruin everything they fucking touch.

That’s a shame. It was a good meme there for a while. I had no idea that it was being tied to racist bullshit.

Thanks for the heads up. I guess I can’t use that meme anymore. I don’t want to be associated with these chuckle fucks.

I never made the association. Idk. Maybe I haven’t been looking carefully enough.

To be fair, I don’t seem to encounter a lot of racists, because I usually actively avoid them, and I also really haven’t used Pepe very much either.

There’s no lack of memes to replace Pepe, so I’m mostly unbothered by all of this.

I’ve been on the Internet too long to bother with every nuance of everything that’s going on. There’s way too much on here for me to care.

Honestly you’re not alone. This is the first I’ve heard to any extent that Pepe was used by racists at all. I’ve seen some pretty heartfelt animations using the likeness and no hint to any extent that racism was somehow attached to it.

I didn’t even know about the Groypers till Charlie Kirk was killed by one.

I only knew Nick Fuentes as “That guy who tried to sue Antifa” and later “The Right Winger who disavowed Trump in 2024”

Apparently there’s controversy about him not “really” being an Incel because he had a girlfriend in high school, and he believes anything outside of being celibate is gay, because being affectionate with a woman is unmanly… and I’m like…

“This is too much even for me.”

I really, truly, with all of my being, feel that we are reaching the end limits of what the human mind is currently able to contend with. We are so overstimulated it’s insane. We literally need to evolve our physical bodies as a species to continue living as we are or we will literally die.

With cigarettes, we recognized that harm that they did and in response developed a series of regulations about where they could be used, who could use them when, how they could be advertised, warning labels that had to be applied, and taxes on them to discourage use and offset the societal harm. As result we get this:

              …and this…

The internet is a tricky one on account of it absolutely having crossover with the first amendment, but there’s got to be a conversation about its effect on mental health and what if anything can be done in response.

If anyone’s feeling pretty hopeless about finding this out for the first time, I recommend this documentary about the cartoon frog’s creator suing Alex Jones and trying to take back his ownership over Pepe from the white power weirdos. It’s very uplifting and the artist is a pretty likable guy.
