Building time-machine takes like 5 steps, I will do it tomorrow.

    1. Memorize the date and time right now.
    2. You will be given time-machine schematics by yourself from future.
    3. Build the time machine.
    4. Go back to the date you memorized and hand yourself the time-machine schematics.
    5. Congratulations.

1974 is a really odd year to pick. It had a bad housing market with several parallels to today: dropping new construction the two previous years, stagflation, significantly increased housing prices compared to the prior year, high mortgage interest rates (~9%!)…

The beauty of a time machine is it doesn’t matter if it’s past the deadline or over-budget; you can just go back and complete it faster and cheaper.

Millennials have been forgotten already, it’s Gen Z that’s the problem now on the ever-changing wheel of blaming the victim. Every generation has good and bad people.

Being someone “just trying to survive” doesn’t make anyone good, it makes them an animal. And animals are amoral by default, because they lack the capacity to be either moral or immoral

Yeah, being “good” doesn’t just happen, it takes an effort to specifically become “good”. Your natural state is just that, natural. Neither good nor bad. It happens that bad choices are often the easiest, which tends to mean that people that dont make an effort to be a good person tend to slip into being bad people. Not because they wanted to be bad, but because they didnt make enough of an effort to be good. “Just trying to survive” by its very nature means you are not actively engaging in benefitting others lives, which fundamentally means you are not a good person.

Not everyone who is “just trying to survive” is bad, but by not making an additional effort to be a good person, they are excluding themselves from being so.

Edit: minor addendum, i am a bad person because i no longer believe that my choices have a serious chance at improving the world, and therefore i do not go out of my way to make said choices as i used to.

Thanks for your thoughts on the matter, and i agree. It’s the intent that counts. Whether you believe that you’re making “good” or “bad” decisions that do or don’t “improve” the world, it is what is in your heart and mind which will absolve or convict you. We and the world will die either way, but while we and it were around did we have good or evil in heart and mind?

Another question might be, “good”, “bad”, “improved”, or “worsened” according to whom? You, me, mother theresa or pol pot? We make our decisions based off of who we are, or at least who we think we are. Yet none of the things that make us be and think the way we do are in our control. Which is why no one can ever be what they aren’t, or stop being themselves in any way.

If you are someone that really wants to know a difficult and painful truth then you will seek it no matter how much effort it takes, and if you are someone that would rather just accept an easy and pleasing lie then you will probably do so because it takes no effort at all. At this stage of the world, everyone having to inexorably be themselves just happens to include a vast majority of confused, conflicted, and understandably frightened, individuals. But, as Schopenhauer put it, “you can choose what you will, but you cannot will what you will”. The very laws of physics govern and determine who, where, what, how, why, and when everyone and everything is, in relation to everyone and everything else. Therefore only God is and will stay perfectly good, the rest of us are compelled, and at risk of being corrupted, by the circumstances of causality.

A person can kill an animal out of sadism(malevolence), or euthanasia(benevolence), but the vast majority do so unemotionally, out of the biological necessity to fuel one’s monkey-suit. The last example is indifferent natural function, wherein what is “good” for the family of hawks is not “good” for the rabbit family. Nature persists by feeding on itself mercilessly, with every one of its children being equally consumer and then consumed. But what sort of person with any sense would like to be devoted to such a master as nature, who, if it had a personified view, would only ever view you as a thing to be constructed, used, fed upon, dismantled, recycled, and then forgotten forever? Only animals are content with such a situation, and only because they are incapable of knowing, wanting, or doing anything better.

Whether you who are wearing that monkey-suit has intentions of benevolence or malevolence is the crux of the matter, and whether one can change their intentions or be an accurate judge of the intentions, of either themselves or others, based solely on the limited information given by outward appearances or one’s own ideas of oneself and others.

The nazi’s, of both past and present, claim(ed) to be desiring and doing “good”. But if one’s idea of “good” involves profiting materially, or attempting to profit, from practicing cruelty and causing suffering for others then any non-delusional individual will easily see through the self-deception. Is this not the same superficial and vicious “good” of the hawks and rabbits? Which reveals that such people as those are just self-deluded animals. They may be a little more mentally complicated and convoluted, but they have the same intentions as any other predator- to feed. And they manage to give themselves permission to do so by rationalizing their predations, with invented religions and politics, in order to get what they want and believe themselves “good” and “right” for doing so.

This ramble has gone on long enough, so i will close simply by saying i hope you’re able to believe that i had only other people’s benefit in mind by typing it all out. And i believe that you and anyone that is able to think that they aren’t a good person is on the right path. A path which can lead from the selfish and stupid animal-hood which we are all born into, due to the stupid and selfish animal impulses of our parents and grandparents before us, to human-hood which is the only true good to be had on a naturally vicious, and thus evil by default, world like this.

Plato said, “many are the thyrsus bearers, but few are the mystics”

Christ said, “many are called(into existence), but few are chosen (to become more than animal)”

And it’s been distilled down through the ages to this current global situation, where many are the homo sapiens but few are the humans

A good chunk of people voted for a child rapist, the rest did little about it.

              People are overwhelmingly bad.

Americans are overwhelmingly bad. As far as i can tell, most of the rest of the world is a great deal more civilized. Still tons of bad, I just find it difficult to believe the entire world is this evil.

    https://www.livescience.com/space/black-holes/physicists-create-black-hole-bomb-for-first-time-on-earth-validating-decades-old-theory

In 1972, physicists William Press and Saul Teukolsky described a theoretical phenomenon called a black hole bomb, in which mirrors enclose, reflect and exponentially amplify waves emanating from a rotating black hole.

Now, in a new study, physicists from the University of Southampton, the University of Glasgow, and the Institute for Photonics and Nanotechnologies at Italy’s National Research Council experimentally verified the theoretical black hole bomb.

Thanks, Brooks. They were just sitting around down quantum nothing for 50 years. Now clealy someone went back in time and became obsessed with revenge and now we have a black hole bomb.

Great, job. I’ll give you an E for Effort and a T for nice Try.

Maybe it happens in the future, but they come back through the birth channel and all, so it goes a bit further back than the 70s.

That’s why we ended up with boomers fucking everything up. It’s just how it always went. The few shit-ass survivors of the incoming shitstorm went back and fucked everything up, because they feel it’s their only chance at anything good. Ironic. Causing the very thing you are fleeing.

The trick to becoming rich is to live in destitute poverty for years on end while cultivating a large stockpile of bitcoins.
