Tangential, but in my steam library, there is a single anime game, a free bullet hell that I pretty quickly realized was both too difficult and annoying for me. The main character’s voice was so piercingly shrill that I had to mute all voices to survive using a super move without experiencing an aneurysm.
Now my recommendations are all hentai jigsaw puzzles, and I don’t even particularly like jigsaw puzzles or hentai. Steam doesn’t seem like the sort of company to abandon porn, if that was all it took to get them to advertise it to me.
I feel ridiculous for not remembering this. I set everything to visible because I expected some pornographic masterpiece of gameplay to somehow fall in my lap like 10 years ago. Thank you, now I can browse steam in public.
Realistically it’s not crazy to be at least a little bit upset with the sheerfuckingnumber of them. I just wanted to make sure you and others knew that you can hide those smut games without hiding like everything with any NSFW content in it.
I personally enabled it a long time ago because I didn’t want anything I didn’t directly hide in the store to be hidden from me. Changed my mind after being inundated by the sheer fucking number of them. It was like half my damn recommendations sometimes.
I’m not sure if that was the company, but it was certainly in that style. iirc, it was a fan game, but don’t quote me. I saw some video on black midis and wanted to try a game that incorporated similar music,

There’s a setting in your store preferences to hide those games. It distinguishes between “there’s sometimes nudity” and “porn game” even.

That was Monster Girl Quest for me…
It’s a visual novel with turn-based combat, so the gameplay’s eh, but story-wise it’s phenomenal.

It’s pretty funny seeing people complain about this because you know that they enabled this setting and forgot about it.

I like how not liking jigsaw puzzles was your first point
Was it a Touhou game?
Found the title. Gonna butcher the spelling, but jigoku kisetsusan sense of the seasons. It was a fan game, as I faintly remembered.
Looked at it’s entry on tvtropes and it looks like the game is partly inspired by Touhou.
Touhou Project
Edit: nvm, i misread your comment and thought you were asking what it was
