It is hard by the end, but it gradually eases you into it. It also makes failure very comfortable, just spawns you right back, takes very little time at all, so there’s some levels where I just brute-forced my way through with a hundred deaths. But I did hit all necessary jumps for real and next time I was there, I did it first try. Going back to 1a after clearing 7b really felt like when a lvl 100 wizard returns to the starting area, but my in-game power didn’t change this time, it was all pure skill and it felt amazing.

As the other comments are saying, the difficulty curve in Celeste is actually balanced really well. The first level is really easy after you’ve completed it once, and helps you get used to everything. Each level has a gimmick (this one’s was the red bubbles and those things that were chasing me half way through) but other than that it’s pure mechanics, so you get a lot better as you progress through the game and it slowly ramps up the difficulty.

It’s definitely worth giving it a try if you’re interested, especially when it goes on sale

It’s probably like New Vegas, where I’ll come to love it once I try it, but I still need to be in the mood to try something new.

The game is awesome. It does get difficult, but I found the difficulty curve to be very fair, and by the time you get to the really hard stuff, you’ve gotten pretty good.

It also has instant restart, so dying a lot isn’t really an inconvenience.

Play the game, it’s phenomenal. One of the best indie games ever.

It has that ceiling if you want to go for it, but the story levels are at a pretty comfortable difficulty level (I say that as a person who’s generally not good at plarformers) and there is an assist mode you can use to adjust the difficulty in a lot of ways. So if you like how it looks, I still recommend giving it a try

Use a controller, it’s SO much easier. Also the game isn’t that difficult actually, it’s mostly timing. But it feels so good to get that strawberry you wanted
It’s very important to take brakes and remember,

I suggest using H264 instead of H265 for better compatibility. The video doesn’t play in my browser, and I think it’s likely because of that. The audio works but the video is just black in my browser. (I can play it with another player like VLC though, of course.)

I did “this one is clearly impossible” on my first try ever. I have never died on that screen.

    “Limit break.”
