I have watched numerous movies where literally all I wanted was to enjoy more of the world that was created. I wouldn’t even mind if there was literally no plot involved.

Movie wraps up with a perfect ending? Just release an extended ending!

Sometimes I just want to watch those characters enjoy their happy ending and get to explore more of the lore and the world.

Just finished up project hail Mary and…

Spoilers?

Tap for spoiler

All I want is a sequel where it explores the world of Erid before he gets sent home. Talk to more eridians, learn some of their culture and traditions. Maybe even have permanent communications established between them and earth and scientists and people just talk with them.

I don’t even care if there’s much of a plot, just story.

I cant think of any examples myself, but if you’ve only seen the project hail mary-movie, I’ve got great news for you!

Tap for spoiler about Project Hail Mary

The book contains so much more info about Eridians and Erid, including biology and culture, interactions between all the characters (both on earth and in space), and the science. It’s a damn worthwhile read even if you already know the plot.

Possibly deep cut but the BBC miniseries Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell

Based on an incredible book set in the Regency period about magic and magicians, the world is just so cool, I’d love another episode just about people making statues talk and enchanting the weather and stuff

It would be nice if there was more of this stuff for horrors or thrillers.

Like when a bad guy is caught or killed at the end, I’d like to see the reactions of everyone else. Or even the good guys or whatever.

Like how the families or the world at a whole moved on from the events. If anyone got arrested.

Like with Obsession, what happened to the girl at the end?? Did she end up in prison for everyone’s death?

Or I recently watched one called The Watcher. What happened with the main girl? There’s gotta be some trauma there, she couldn’t have just gone to normal life. What happened with her husband that never believed her?

Modern Fantasy like that always gets me going!

That world has a million stories that could be told in it, just using the premise of orcs/elves/humans in an analog modern society. Off the top of my head a “reality” cooking show where they make a meal to appease each races tastes; explore more into their sports: there was the throwaway line about Orcs being NFL linemen; a crocodile hunter type show about all the mythical animals that are around…

I’m gonna stop, I’m disappointed none of this is happening.

Flow already didn’t have much plot but I’d love some more hours of those animals navigating around their world.

    Agreed on Hail Mary too.

    Detective Pikachu.

    Spoilers for the ending

I think they shot themselves in the foot by having Pikachu lose his human voice and return to talking like a normal Pikachu. I’m not sure a “buddy cop” type movie would work as well without real dialogue. All that said though…

It was a very unique take on Pokemon. Some of the designs looks odd in live action 3d, Mr. Mime comes to mind lmao, but it was so cool seeing how humans and monsters work together and are integrated into an urban setting. It’s something the games touch on a little, but something Nintendo/Game Freak don’t seem interested in animating in any interesting way. (That’s not a dog at the battle system not being animated, which is a totally separate topic.)

Seeing Loudred (I think it was Loudred, not Exploud) as a DJ while there was a fucking cage match was sick as hell!

That’s perfect. I would watch just for the random everyday things happening. I love the adventure of exploring the pokemon world. I want a game or live action series that is about finding all the pokemon in their natural habitats. Battling is popular, but doesn’t even need a place in the series I imagine.

    The Chronicles of Riddick

Yeah I know they made ‘Riddick’, it’s okay and a nice step back into more of what Pitch Black was. But I wanted to know more about the Elementals, the Necromongers, other races that were extinguished, or like the Furyan… thought to have been purged.

Edit: Tossing in Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets as a bonus. Another cool world I wanted to see more of.

Technically there was a movie (Serenity), but whatever got me more of the Firefly universe. The characters were just so much fun, their banter alone would be enough for me. Thankfully, there’s supposedly an animated revival in the works - announced several months ago by the entire original cast (edit: sans Ron Glass of course 😔).

I’d watch a Guardians of the Galaxy movie that was just 3 hours of the characters interacting with each other and otherwise going about their day. I’m confident that they wouldn’t need a plot to be entertaining.

I’d also just enjoy watching Rocket for 3 hours if I’m being perfectly honest.

This is kind of why I watched Rings of Power. The plot has many problems but I just wanted to see more of middle-earth.
