Why did you choose your Fediverse Instance, does it have a bigger meaning than it was a bigger instance or was it for a certain reason? Did you have to be on your instance you chose?

I used lemm.ee bc of their defederation policy. When it died, I chose mander.xyz for the same reason.
What’s that policy? Very open or very closed?
That defederation is the nuclear option.
