Mine had a mix of city kids and country kids as the school was on the edge of the city. Our school also offered an outdoor education program that included things like fire starting and canoe tripping so students enrolled in that would have a valid excuse to have a knife on them. The student’s history of getting into trouble and reaction to getting caught is also a likely factor.
