Please watch til the end. I guarantee you will not regret it.
(Edit: I know you have heard that line 1000 times, but this, I mean it. I have been thinking the whole day about this video. I deeply respect this youtuber, and well… Just watch it.)

Was about to watch it, then read “Please watch til the end. I guarantee you will not regret it.”
If I had a nickel for every time I’ve been promised that, and regretted it, I’d be a rich man.
I can confirm that Alec does not disappoint in this video, although I find “please watch until the end” universally annoying.
I really meant it
I know you mean it and aren’t coming at this from the usual angle of clickbait, but
spoiler
doesn’t saying that when Alec deliberately added a fakeout ending spoil the original intent of the art? Aren’t you tainting arguably the best moment of the video for the person who watches it? The fakeout only lasts a few seconds while Alec stares ominously into the camera, so there’s very minimal chance after an hour watching a thoughtful, argumentative video that somebody’s going to immediately click away. I’m sure he very deliberately thought through a balance between faking people out and people clicking off – one which telling people “watch until the end I swear!” throws out the window.
If you watch to the end, he explains that the fake ending was so that he could also post a version that doesn’t get “partisan” for the people who want to share the first part about solar to people who may not recieve the second part well. But I don’t think there’s any risk of people not recieving it well here, and I think it’s important that as many people as possible see a typically non-partisan channel break the silence to denounce what is going on. I think if a huge swathe of internet “influencers” were suddenly this vocal, it would wake viewers up, it could change the course of history. It’s when everyone silently continues their regularly scheduled content that democracy silently dissolves.
Especially when everyone is so cryptic about it. Instantly kills any desire for it.
It’s arguably the best part of the video
It’s not a lie. The last 20 or so minutes are cathartic.
To be fair, Technology Connections as a YouTube channel is pretty good.
So I’d guess this video is well done as well, but I haven’t watched it myself yet
It’s well done…. Especially the end. Took me 3 days to get thru it, but the last 20 or so minutes were riveting
I’m not an American, but as a Canadian this is still far more important to me than I’d like it to be. Hopefully this helps make a difference.
Not a fan of drier topics but it was still great.
He’s really good at making topics you might not expect to be interested in into really good videos. Dishwashers, heat pumps, and so many more
This one isn’t about driers though
Dryers?
This time it’s different and there is a good reason
Watched it earlier, they aren’t joking.
It’s worth the wait. He starts with solar, and ends up going nuclear after the first/fake ending.
