i’m talking about those little things that just grind your gears. like, why do shoelaces exist when we could have instant foot-enveloping technology? or why is the ‘reply all’ button always so tempting? i just had to battle a blister pack for like five minutes for ONE tiny pill. there has to be a better way. what’s your pick for the most infuriatingly simple problem that needs to just… disappear?

Ads, in every form. I use an adblocker so I don’t see most of them digitally but a few still slip through. It’s a pain having to keep it updated with new lists of things to block.

And don’t get me started on the amount of mail that just goes straight into the bin. Credit card ads, valpack ads, “buy your house for cash” cards, etc etc. So much time wasted tossing those.

For junk mail, it might be worth checking if there’s any way to opt-out with the postal service in your jurisdiction.

I know where I live (Canada), you just have to place a notice on your mailbox that reads “No unaddressed advertising”.

I’ve looked and can’t find much. It’s been a few years though so maybe time to look again.

Unfortunately here (US), companies buy your information from bulk vendors so most of the junk is still directly addressed to me so that wouldn’t stop it. Even when I was in apartments they got the information from somewhere.
