Does anyone have any recommendations for software that will notify me or provide a feed for new releases from artists in my music library.
i heard lidarr can do this but i never used it so idk much
Not quite what you’re asking but if you buy your music on Bandcamp (or just have a Bandcamp account) you can “Follow” artists there. That tells Bandcamp to send you email alerts every time that artist releases an track/album on Bandcamp.
It’s one of the main ways I find out that new music gets released and it sort of works since I was probably going to buy it at Bandcamp anyway.

I wish more websites would support RSS. It’s one of the best web techniques that are under utilized in my opinion. I know there are services to build a custom RSS and so on, but that never did it for me (various reasons). A simple real RSS would do so much for me.
If you don’t want exclusively foss, then a Google alert can do the trick. Noise or for concerts of bands I want to see but it can be used for things like this too. Obviously not for you, if you want to not have a Google account. If you already have one, you can get some of the benefits that they take all your data in exchange for. From what I can see, it’s still a non monetosed service.
