- Trump Media shares closed down nearly 10% after a wild trading session that was briefly halted due to volatility when the Truth Social owner’s stock suddenly plunged in price.
- DJT stock, which had been up more than 13% earlier in the afternoon, had abruptly turned more than 6% lower on the day at the time the halt occurred.
- The stock drop came during the highest-volume day for Trump Media since it started publicly trading on the Nasdaq following a business merger with a blank-check firm.
Say it with me now, pump n’ dump.
Probably triggered by his ‘let’s just listen to music instead of doing a rally’ stunt that shows he’s lost his marbles (more than usual).
Wait, what?
the music portion of the event, which opened with “Ave Maria.”
Umm…I got nuthin.
Ave Maria is “classical music” for people that cant pronounce Tchaikovsky. Pavarotti has a great rendition, but hell, Celine Dion did one too. Its not that special.
Franz Schubert just set an excerpt of a Sir Walter Scott poem to music for christs sake! Why does it exist on such a pedestal?
All im saying is that ave maria is like trump. It holds a position of esteem for people that know nothing about art or success or value. It is the golden toilet set inside a cookie cutter McMansion in the middle of Frisco Texas.
Sure, you can impress your neighbors with it, but the bank is reposessing that house and toilet along with your new wake boat next week too. Who are you really impressing?
What, you’ve never gotten down on the dance floor to the funky beats of Ave Maria?
My alternating fist pump dance is the stuff of legend.
Trump ‘n’ dump?
Sounds overpriced.
They couldn’t pay me to take it.
That would still be overpriced.
It cost too much just to read this
It’s a mystery what triggers stops of trading. The percentage drop isn’t that great and the dollar total is trivial compared to the market as a whole.
You can find the specific rules on the sec site
There are breakers on individual stocks now in both directions I believe. It’s not a market wide stop.
following a business merger with a blank-check firm
Oh look, another bribe
Everything with this guy is a scam. I wonder what this one is going to be.
