Born in the early eighties, French nerd, anti-fascist, woke bloke and usually friendly.
Oh. Here in France, even online banks still have web apps.
Anyway the assumption that every user has a smartphone is now very prevalent and it’s going to get harder and harder to not have one, but I really want to go against the trend.
Can’t you set it back to sending you a text with a code to input back? That’s what I’m doing with my bank, my dumbphone is on its way.
We might have some silent letters, vestigial remnant of ancient forms, but English has basically no rule for pronunciation. It’s so funny watching English speakers debate among themselves how a name should be pronounced.
As a Mastodon instance admin that did the blocking properly only yesterday, I can tell you this list appears to be automated and accurate.
I’m French. I’m not aware of any other language that radically modifies the meaning of verbs with propositions in such a way.
As a foreigner, you might expect that break up and break down have opposite meanings because up and down do, but nope.
My biggest gripe as a non native speaker is phrasal verbs.
Unless you know exactly what they mean, you are screwed. You can’t decypher them, there’s no link between the meaning of the component parts and the phrasal verb.
As my English teacher used to tell us jokingly: you should never say: “I get on with my brother, but I get off with my sister”.
I have kept most of my Nintendo systems, but I sold my GameCube and now I regret it.
Games are still playable on my Wii, but I would have modded the GC to load games from a sd card to make it more future proof, as the disk reading part is the most fragile.
Don’t sleep on Pikmin 3 mission mode, it’s quite challenging and fun, it’s all about multitasking like a mad man.
I’m playing Pikmin 1 HD (I couldn’t really wait for the physical edition as I had previously stated). I’m having a blast so far, played 6 days and got 10 spaceship pieces.
I remember being terrified of the time constraint in the game (30 days to get 30 pieces) when I first played it 20 years ago, but my experience with Pikmin 3 makes the game really much more manageable and enjoyable now. The Switch version, even if it’s a simple HD port with some very minor tweaks, is really enjoyable.
Looking forward to starting Pikmin 2 HD, probably next week.
Honestly, you don’t need any app. I’m using Firefox on mobile and it’s way better than the app I tried.
That’s about it.
Yes I’m waiting for the physical release, as I already have 3 in physical, and wanted to have all 4 in my drawer, for some weird reason.
I might try to finish Pikmin 3 before 1, 2 and 4 hit!
I was not expecting Pikmin 1 and 2 HD ports, but I’ll take them.
I’ll wait for the physical release to have all 4 and show them to my grand kids 25 years from now, for the release of Pikmin 5.
my bad. I guess city and road planning is very car-centric as well.
You live in the US I presume?
Here in Lyon, France, the local government is removing car lanes downtown so we get wider bike lanes. Some are not happy about it, but if you look at the number of people passing through at rush hour, cyclists really outnumber cars, and bike traffic is never jammed.
I refuse to bike on this kind of lane. I just bike on the road, f that.
You absolutely can start with 4. The worst thing that can happen is that you love it and are slightly disappointed when you try the first 3 games after 4. It could be worse.
