Super Mario RPG coming to Switch was NOT on my bingo card, but what an awesome surprise. The game that originally made me fall in love with the turn based RPG genre.

I was not expecting Pikmin 1 and 2 HD ports, but I’ll take them.

I’ll wait for the physical release to have all 4 and show them to my grand kids 25 years from now, for the release of Pikmin 5.

Nintendo is really starting to push Pikmin again and I love it. Glad to have all the games on the switch. Capitalize on the popularity of the system to grow the franchise. Hopefully it’s not another 25 years this time!

Haha, let’s hope we don’t have to wait that long, but you never know with Nintendo, if they think they don’t have any new idea for the game, it is going to disappear in their locker for next 20 years.

First 2 games were on PS3, so should run fine. Even Arkham Knight was early PS4, so with good optimization shouldn’t be a big issue.

Will have to wait and see the actual port.

I remember reading somewhere long ago that the shield tv had the processing & gaming power of an Xbox 360. The shield tv shares the same chip as the Switch, And those games are X360 era. In practice though it doesn’t seem to work very well.

Agree, never finished the PS2 version. Would have like to see the option to play either the original or the 2D remake.

A Wind Waker HD version for Switch would literally be the fastest way for Nintendo to get money from me.

Twilight Princess HD for me, but I’ll (re-)buy either title on the Switch. I’m loving the heck out of TotK, but I also miss the classic 3D Zelda formula.

Assuming this is actually Switch footage in this Sonic Superstars trailer, it seems to look and perform better on the Switch than I expected. Will still probably be picking that up on PS5, though.

I wasn’t a huge fan of the NSMB series, and it always felt like they were just playing it safe. This one seems to have a similar look, but it appears they are trying some really original ideas with it.

Yeah, it looks really fun. And not just new 2D Mario. Super Mario RPG Remake and Detective Pikachu, not to mention teaser for a new Princess Peach game.

I’ve definitely overhyped myself for this. Nothing interesting for me in the first 9 minutes, but holding out hope for a Metroid Prime 2+3 Remaster.

Been playing it for a couple of months now on pc. It’s cozy and chill. There are lots of little quests. Skills to develop (eg gathering/fishing/mining/gardening etc). NPC’s to interact with and run errands for.

The only “combat” element is hunting. No fighting. (Whether that’s a pro/con is a personal preference ofcourse.)

You need other players for small stuff, like chopping magical trees. Which most players are quite chill about and can be arranged on the spot. No need to join an established guild or something.

For late game, (when you have maxed all NPC’s) the progress is in building/furnishing/beautifying a house, and for the completionists: catching all bugs/fish, craft all furniture, finding all the little secret quests.

The only paid content are outfits & pets. Purely cosmetic. They stated that they will keep it that way, and so far so good. So if you wish to support the company, you can. If not, there is no need to.

If you have never played them, they are great games. One of the best super-hero game series, which raised the bar for all the games that follow, even then I would say only Insomniac’s Spider-man has come close to it, but that’s a very different game.

I just hope they are good ports!

I did play them and I absolutely adore this franchise, I’m just so excited to know I can have them in portable mode down the line.

A bit disappointed by the absence of Origins though.

I was just telling my girlfriend we need to play Pikmin before pikmin 4 comes out. We pre-ordered it when we got tears of the kingdom with the NSO voucher

I haven’t played any Pikmin game. Was thinking about starting 3 after TotK, but I wonder if I should start with the first one…

Going to see the trailer and reviews to see what condition the games are in, before making a decision.

You can’t go wrong with any of them, as they are all a bit unique in their own way.

        1. Overarching timer forcing you to work somewhat efficiently to complete the game. Puzzles and difficulty are definitely the easiest in the series, but still provide a fun challenge to newcomers and veterans alike
        2. No overarching timer allowing for a more laid back approach to completing. Introduces a 2nd captain and much more challenging/replayable end game content (a lot of people hold P2 in very high regards, and consider the end game content to be the most difficult in the series)
        3. Technically there is an overarching timer, but it’s implemented in such a way that doesn’t create as much stress or pressure like the timer from P1 does. Introduces multiple captains that add another layer of complexity to puzzles as well as optimizing your daily efficiency. Has a very helpful world map that shows the location of objectives, captains, and loose Pikmin. The Deluxe edition has a slew of additional content that I haven’t even fully completed, but I believe they’re “prequel” missions that help to explain some of the events that happen before the start of the game.
