As others have said no one source should have blanket trust.
Understanding the bias the source may have by looking up who owns/funds it and understanding how that might skew what you’re reading is important.
For news based on studies I usually will try to directly to the study which should list the methodology which will help show how well done it was.
If I have time later I’ll put together a list of ones I use and what I’ve seen as their biases.
Heartbreaking, the fact that Israel continues to murder journalists and civilians with no restraint while the world just stands by thanks to Amerikkka backing them is infuriating.
Pseudoscience is always going to attract people who want to feel like they know more than others without putting in a lot of work on studying things.
Terrance Howard also believes 1x1=2 so wouldn’t put a ton of stock into his other theories but haven’t heard of this one specifically. Like the other commentator said if he at some point shows concrete evidence I’m happy to admit I’m wrong but he hasn’t had that for his other stuff so I’m doubtful.
Those organizations specifically? Not much, the major powers within them have always had a level of veto or other powers that effectively make them untouchable.
The other major powers, like China have to counter us more directly since we’ll likely see international orgs slowly become more inept as this country goes more mask off with its facism and imperialism.
Oh I don’t want them to hold back new games performance just for the OG switch, that was pretty underpowered even when it came out. I’m hoping the switch 2 gets a good upgrade in the area since it’s needed.
More for indie games and things like that was what I was thinking.
Not too surprising they didn’t change much. The switch was a huge hit so fixing things like the joycons, adding a stand, etc. was the way to go.
My guess (hope) is that the only new titles exclusive to the switch 2 are ones that the original switch wouldn’t have the processor strength to play and that they won’t arbitrarily wall them but we’ll see.
Gotta say I really appreciate that you do this. I try to varying degrees when I have the time since like you said it’s usually so lurkers can have their minds changed but it can be time consuming.
It’s really nice when others are jumping in to help and I see you posting great takes a ton.
The text of the deal prevents Hezbollah from carrying out “any operations” against Israel, but it states that Israel will refrain from “any offensive military operations” against Lebanese targets. “It’s kind of a bit insidious where they say ‘offensive,’ meaning somehow there’s this little kind of wiggle room for what they will interpret as defensive, which in Israeli logic and discourse and action means anything,” Makdisi said. “Anything can happen. They can say, ‘Well, this is defense.’ Even the genocide in Gaza, as far as they’re saying, is defensive.” Both Netanyahu and Biden emphasized that the ceasefire was conditioned on the principle that Israel would not be bound by the same rules as Lebanon. “Let me be clear: If Hezbollah or anyone else breaks the deal and poses a direct threat to Israel, then Israel retains the right to self-defense consistent with international law, just like any country when facing a terrorist group pledged to that country’s destruction,” Biden said. He offered no comment on the rights of the Lebanese to protect themselves from Israeli violations or direct threats to their security.
Yeah very little chance this lasts long since Israel has stated everything they do is “defensive”. Murdering unarmed children, bombing hospitals, a literal genocide is all “defensive” to them.
The report documents how Israel’s extensive bombing campaign in Gaza has decimated essential services and unleashed an environmental catastrophe that will have lasting health impacts. By early 2024, over 25,000 tons of explosives—equivalent to two nuclear bombs—had been dropped on Gaza, causing massive destruction and the collapse of water and sanitation systems, agricultural devastation, and toxic pollution.
I knew it was a lot but the equivalent of 2 nukes really puts it into perspective.
Biden has had literally all the evidence you could need to trigger the Leahy Laws and stop the arms shipments but has been complicit in this the entire time.
It’s wild to me that when she realized she had to somewhat distance herself from Biden she chose to say she’d have a republican in her cabinet. Not something about helping the working class more, or not supplying and funding a genocide that’s incredibly unpopular with what should be her base.
Stuff like that along with “having the most lethal military” and campaigning with Cheney alienated leftists, student, and Muslim voters which all could have been easy wins.
Economically people don’t feel better under Biden than they did 4 years ago which while the inflation largely isn’t his fault she still needed to meaningfully project she would be different than him to get working class voters and she didn’t effectively do that since she wasn’t pushing a populist message.
She clearly doesn’t know how to campaign well (pretty sure I heard she had Clinton staffers giving advice to her campaign lol) but that shouldn’t be a surprise since she was the first candidate to drop out of the 2020 primary.
Not really, if you read my other comment they’re actual journalists that have a solid history of good reporting.
They started this spin off of the intercept project relatively recently so that’s probably why.
Not sure on the down votes but my guess is that you mentioned the media bias sites and people would rather you come to your own conclusions based on the sources history kinda like you ended up doing by looking up the creators instead of relying on those sites.
I personally stopped interacting with the .worlds world news community after they forced the clearly biased mb/fc bot on everyone despite a lot of complaints.
On the about section of drop site news page:
Founded by Ryan Grim, Jeremy Scahill, and veterans of The Intercept.
Feel free to look them up they do good work.
Edit: The US presidential election is not based on popular vote so if you live outside of the ~5-6 swing states that decide the election you can go ahead and vote for a candidate that fits your beliefs even if it’s 3rd party (shoutout PSL), there’s no argument not to. Continuing to vote for the lesser evil when it’s not needed just means they can take your vote for granted.
Make sure to pay attention to local/state elections too, those who often affect your life even more. As always voting is only a small part in how we affect change, find local organizations and agitate for change that way.

I know you’ve been getting downvotes but just wanted to say thank you for voting PSL!
JOHN CARLOS: Yeah, “Blimey, John. You’re calling me with these blimey questions here?” And I said to him, I said, “Pete, I have a concern, man. What’s this about you don’t want to have your statue there? What, are you backing away from me? Are you ashamed of us?” And he laughed, and he said, “No, John.” He said—you know, the deep thing is, he said, “Man, I didn’t do what you guys did.” He said, “But I was there in heart and soul to support what you did. I feel it’s only fair that you guys go on and have your statues built there, and I would like to have a blank spot there and have a commemorative plaque stating that I was in that spot. But anyone that comes thereafter from around the world and going to San Jose State that support the movement, what you guys had in ’68, they could stand in my spot and take the picture.”
Really cool move here. Like the message it sends that anyone can (and should) stand up and do the right thing and support those that are oppressed.
I don’t think it will in the short term since Russia needs allies and the West has made it clear they will never be allies with Russia. Russia doesn’t gain anything by splitting with China now or in the short term.
Much longer term it was always bound to happen. Russia only gets critical support around here because it’s going against the West in this specific conflict. It’s still a capitalist country with reactionary views on a lot of things.
That’s going to eventually put it at odds with China and other AES countries unless there’s a change in power in Russia.
