The real deal y0

Id need to look for it again, but i remember reading she was saying that the current proposal is vague in what it sees as required to prevent what she calls risks. I remember them asking her multiple times if she was against a law to prevent csa and the sharing there off, in which she replied multiple times that she was not, but that the law was too vague about what it constitutes as necessary to prevent it. Did i dream it? ><
Edit: found it!
Mevrouw Kathmann (GroenLinks-PvdA):

I recommend reading the dutch debate : https://www.tweedekamer.nl/kamerstukken/plenaire_verslagen/detail/2025-2026/17
And yes, the latter is currently a thing (but in a weaker form) but will no longer be allowed in april 2026, which is why this law is getting pushed so hard. Currently chats can be asked by police/interpol/… But they need good reasons, and the results can be varying because chat platforms like signal do not keep chat messages/stuff.
The new law forces them to have systems in place to catch or have data for law inforcements. It just allows for ‘any system to get the needed info’, it no longer says chat scanning is needed directly, but is rather indirectly which is as stupid and bad as before.

The later. However, they could still be fines for not doing what is needed to reduce “the risks of the of the chat app”, whatever the fuck that can mean when talking about illegal.content

Whoa, what the hell? Id like to know more if true!
EDIT: what the actual living hell???

Which is why they are asking for advise/information here though. Youre not wrong in what youre saying, but if you tell people about whats going on, what helps, and what the risks are, they can make their own choices. And if they fuck up, they will learn their lessons.
I have faith in humans to make relatively ok choices. Exceptions exist, but they wouldnt be on lemmy nor would they ask for information first :')

Oh valid point. Dont unscrew the whole valve haha. Only the slotted key hole!
Steam might come out if you have a very major pressure issue or water temprature is way way too high. Either case, slowly opening the valve solves all off that

Dont over react. If you know to turn the valve slowly you are fine.

I have no idea why everyone here is saying to not do jack shit. Like, is the us system so different than what im used to?
Here is an information dump of what i know, and what my experiences is from 9 years of being the handyman in an elderly home. And yes, i called in experts enough times on heating issues. I know my ( local ) shit.
Would you describe the sound like a knocking, rumbling sound? If so, turn it all off, check the pressure of the heater and get a plumber. Youre pushing steam or nothing through the system and the piping doesnt like it. Scary sound if its bad tbh. Also a serious issue you need a plumber for, as the heater or preassure tank is likely fucked.
Would you describe the sound like blub blub, airbubbles popping or a waterfall? If so, there is air in the closed loop of the radiators. It happens, and its recommended to check all radiators once a year when it gets colder. Nothing bad about it, easy to fix/remedy.
You can also validate this by turning on the heating system and noticing, on top of the sound, that only part of the radiator heats up.
This is usually a problem with the highest radiator of your system, or the farthest radiator of your loop.
If it happens more than once a year -> you might have a leak somewhere ,if water pressure remains the same, get a plumber to check on the system or radiator system.
The later can easily be remedied. Go to the radiator that makes sound and try and find the following :
It is an release valve intended to let air in, or out, of the system. It is on the top side of the radiator, on the opposite side of the knob. Turn on the heating system, wait a bit for it to heat up. Then use the special key, or screw driver to very very slowly turn it open. You will hear air escape at one point, or drips of water coming out of the small hole you see in the picture. If you can no longer hear air escape, or a steady small stream of water comes out, all air is released and you can close it again.

Alex horne? But why? Greg davies is so much better :')
I solved this differently. I have a framework and told my boss: “if i leave the company before the laptop is mine, ill pay the 100€ it costs to get a new top cover to replace the stickered one” :p.
Its a 5min job so ye hehe
I disagree. Though both qwerty layout, uk english > us english/international layout.
The enter key alone makes it better as is :p
Yup. I have yet to play around with wayland since im a linux mint user but look forward to it. I know what xserver intended to solve and weve gone way past those times. Something new is needed, and i hope wayland can integrate ui a lot better than xserver can. From what ive heard there are things wayland cant do that xserver can ( like stitching 2 monitors together and make it act like 1 ) but that wont stop me from trying and looking for performance differences
Not really. Linux mint/cinnamon is lacking behind on wayland support. Im still waiting for them to finish it but its going very very slowly.
With debian and ubuntu switching by default, i think linux mint will have to change gears quickly

Right, so basically he removed the software aspect in his tests which removes systems to protect the battery. I assume without them, it is damaging, like what great scott found.
Ye, he should have continued his experiments then!

Ok, before i watch the video, no damage is not what great scott found from his testings… ( https://youtu.be/iMn2yVoEqPs ).
so i have no idea what to believe anymore, but my (based) experience is that it does damage it. Ill have to watch later.

Not sure why youre getting downvoted, you are right. If you got access to knowledge via your job that has nothing to do with your job and use that knowledge, youre fucked.
For example, you work in a team that makes a ecommerce website, and have access to the wms team’s files. In those files you read about barcodes and their rules/parsing specs, some of those files are only to be read under a contract. Making anything related to the barcodes, even in your own time and equipment, is a nono.
Trust me, ive been in the grey zone and have contacted lawyers about it.

Oh ye, in case of torrents its not all one guy. It never is. In case of consoles it was paradox, or team executor, or …
(All financed by max in this case, but hes never alone).
And even with trackers i sure hope and assume its different teams.
I didnt mean to say piracy is evil itself, thats like saying all arm-base phones are evil.
Just saying there is way more evil and devils there than you think. Mobsters are a thing

Did i say i am paying to pirate?

Who runs the trackers? Who gets stuff on the trackers? I have also never spent a dollar, but if you do, your money doesnt not always go towards who you think. And in this day and age, not spending money doesnt mean another party isnt profiting.
Ah, i see. Ye it can be interpreted in different ways, and reading the proposal might clear it up, but i doubt it. Its written extremely vague on purpose
