What’s American rail?
Our side of town has zero rail, and it would take about two hours on a bus to get home from downtown, 7 miles away. Oh, and the Amtrak train 7 miles away shows up once a day at 2am. And I could probably hitchhike to where I’m going faster than that shit train would get me there.
I don’t know if this is relevant, but I deal a lot with MS support in my role at work. There is some built in AI that you need to go through in order to open a support case, and it’s about 85% useless, and also has a caveat at the end that says “AI provided information may be incorrect”. However, there are cases where it’s useful, and I don’t have to deal with a human who copies and pastes a novel in their email to tell me they’re working on it.
Ive had cancellations processed after product upgrades and it went through in less than a day, and I didn’t have to read 5 paragraphs of bullshit canned script from a human. So it’s not all bad, I guess.
That’s the extent to which I use AI for work. I can’t imagine another use case where I wouldn’t have to double check everything, and if I have to do that, I may as well just do it myeself.

So my PC will run W11 without a problem, but fuck that bloated mess. I have to use it on my work laptop and the number of times I’ve wanted to take a sledgehammer to it is innumerable.
I’ve settled on Bazzite because 90% of the time I’m playing steam games, but I’m having trouble understanding what (if anything) I need to do with my photos and music to migrate those over.
Also, I have 3 SSDs- 1 M.2 nvme for the OS, and 2 others for storage. After I back up my files to an external drive… and that’s where my knowledge of the process ends.
Anyone happen to know of any resources that can get me from the 1st grade understanding of Linux that I currently have to where I need to be to successfully migrate my PC?

I feel like as long as the banned speech is extremely specifically defined, I don’t care if they look like martyrs. “The holocaust never happened” is easily defined as holocaust denial, and it’s easy to enforce.
The problems arrive when a law is passed with an ambiguous, poorly defined meaning like “hate speech”. Hate speech can really mean anything someone else doesn’t like.
There’s about a zero percent chance that 5 year old console components cost more today than they did 5 years ago.
Things like that don’t get more expensive, they get cheaper as new tech develops.
Many will consider this a cost-cutting step too far, but the interior was designed for ease of upgrading, with easy mounting space for anything from a simple soundbar to a full sound system.
This isn’t for everyone, but if it’s easily accessible, I’d have no problem installing a basic CarPlay head unit and speakers in an afternoon.

Nah, fuck Windows 11. I’m in the beginning stages of a win10 migration to Mint, and as soon as I understand how things actually work beyond the install, MS will be completely out of my life.
