This seems kinda facile to me. Of course we act on the information when given it, that’s why we say we don’t want to test for it? If I thought I (and others like me) wouldn’t act on the knowledge, I wouldn’t care whether we tested for those traits or not?

Narcissistic sociopaths have a massively negative influence on society. While it may be a slippery slope, if there was a way to just excise that trait and prevent anything else from being considered, I’d be 100% in.

Yeah, that’s one part of it. The environmental factor could be solved by a social shift in stronger community/more community involvement in child-rearing. It takes a village.
I did a quick search since testing IVF embryos for high intelligence potential sounded really bogus to me. Apparently it can be marginally predicted for a only couple of IQ points, and comes with the added bonus of potential for selecting for other detrimental effects.
