Edit: Huh. Apparently Newfoundland has TONS of different wasps according to the info on this identification site. Tons of different wasps but I never knew them as wasps. I never knew any of their names other than “that big scary bastard” or “the painful stinging thing”. But the ‘European Hornet’? That was what I was thinking of. I’ve been misled to believe that thing was a wasp my whole ass life!
