Vertical tabs were also available with a recommended add-on but it was awkward and sometimes glitchy. If this for instance gets synced it could be a more integrated experience than an add on

Vertical tabs were definitely a hack via a sidebar. But this extension looks like it works just fine with Mozilla’s APIs, and even if it didn’t, Mozilla could just fill in the missing APIs instead. (Container Tabs is a good example of this.)

Do any of you actually want this feature? I recently heard that chrome can do that and my immediate thought was: “if I need that view, I just put the tab in a new window and put them side by side…”

I mean more feature more good, I was just wondering…

I could see using it, but would have to try it out. Felt the same way about vertical tabs and now I can’t imagine not having them. As far as putting windows side by side or breaking tabs into new windows, that gets old really fast on my laptop screen

The vertical tabs are great, aside from “expand sidebar on hover” being a bit buggy

Seems fine. Implementation details could make it better or worse. I’m just glad it’s not more AI slop.
