I’m gonna be that annoying cunt and say that this community is way too much of a sausage party to be making this kinda joke. I would love to read it as “haha lol that’s me” but in this community it comes off as “lol dumb woman annoying”. Misogyny is a massive problem on reddit, and we should try harder to create a more welcoming environment for women here.

Yeah but this is Lemmy. There’s far more overlap between ‘sausage party’ and ‘women’ here than most other social media can even handle.

And like, I never watched GoT nor read the books but still caught the reference. So this doesn’t feel like a form of arcane misogyny.

On lemmy there are multiple women-only communities that reach front page regularly.

If you pay close attention, they also post here.

I’m suprised how many (at least claim) to be women around here.

FWIW I initially just took this in the context of the source material, Game of Thrones.

Cersei Lannister (pictured) comes from a noble house whose sigil is a lion. They use a lot of lion metaphors. One of the quotes from her father Tywin (in the show at least) is “The lion does not concern himself with the opinions of the sheep.”

Cersei as a character, though, is a bit of a hot mess who makes it her business to concern herself with everyone.

Lionesses plural? Herself singular? What’s your high school GPA?
