They are essentially deer who get about on their back legs behavior wise.

I dunno, the big males will also staunch you and try to throw down with some pretty nasty claws if you get too close to what they see as being their territory. They can kick like motherfuckers too by leaning back on their tails.

There was a big boy we called Ol’ Roger who used to live near my friend’s holiday house and when Ol’ Roger decided he wanted to hang out in the yard we made sure to give him a wide berth. He was about 6’6” standing upright; had ripped muscles like he had just got out of a 10-year stint in gaol; and always had a really mean look on his face. Thankfully he never got into any biff with us but there were a couple of close calls where people had to duck inside quick smart when he started heading towards them.

And sometimes big bucks will decide they arent having your walking around on back legs shit and try and give you an antler poking…

Generally both will run off, but if they want to barney, they can.

Bullshit, I’ve seen the video of the one drowning a dude’s dog and I’ve read about them tearing people’s innards out with their claws.

Edit: Since apparently I’m being doubted, a quick google search found two separate incidents of this happening on camera: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OMQ_A8pDu08

      https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6V4g4SY3c30

I stopped looking after that but wouldn’t surprise me if there were more.

More info about their claws: https://findanexpert.unimelb.edu.au/news/52210-reminder--kangaroos-are-‘vegetarian-gladiators’-with-kicks-that-can-kill.-an-expert-explains-why-they-attack

Hate to link to Quora, but there someone posted photos in their reply: https://www.quora.com/Could-a-kangaroo-kick-to-the-stomach-permanently-injure-a-human

I’m Australian, Ive literally encountered them domesticated and in the wild hundreds of times in my life.

But if an American has seen a video I must be wrong.

Dogs can also rip out throats, but the actual occurrences are rare. I think that’s what they’re saying. Deer definitely can do it too, which you said in another post is that your understanding is that Kangaroos are more violent. Which, are they? Or is that just your impression of a foreign animal you’ve only heard newsworthy stuff about as opposed to animals you regularly encounter in your home country?

You don’t think deer would do that if they had hands? Large herbivores can be fucking brutal.

My understanding is that kangaroos are much more unpredictable and prone to random violence towards humans than deer. Also, only half of the deer even have antlers, all kangaroos will fuck you up with their claws.
