once youve strained it a whole can of creamed corn gives you barely a third of a cup why isnt anyone talking about this
i think it has to do with government corn subsidies
edit you people arent getting it so ive created a diagram
look at all that blue thats wasted space between the creamed corns and it takes up over half the can



Oof, good question, can’t say I have a solid answer for you though.
Here in South Mississippi, and pretty much anywhere down south, canned boiled peanuts and fresh boiled peanuts are both readily available and both reasonably affordable.
The canned peanut options tend to come from grocery stores while the fresh peanut options tend to come from gas stations/convenience stores. I never really bothered doing a price comparison by weight though, either way they seem reasonably affordable.
Fresh boiled peanuts when you want them fresh right then of course, canned boiled peanuts to stock in the pantry for bad weather or lazy days when you just want your salty snack without having to leave the house.
Or from the back of a stranger’s van in a parking lot 🤌
