No reason at all?! Are you kidding? They’re doing it for profit. It’s all for the bottom line! If a few kids starve, who cares? Most of them are brown anyway.
I think it’s more than that, they are heavily invested in a rather nasty version of the “just world hypothesis”: if bad stuff happens to these people, like being poor and hungry, it’s because they are bad and deserve it.
It’s the same logic at play for blaming victims or rape and sexual violence.
Because the alternative, that the world isn’t fair and horrible stuff happens to good people and good things also happen to horrible people, is too unpleasant and exhausting to contemplate and requires complex thought.
Specifically, breaking the just world illusion is unpleasant and exhausting because it removes the only reassurance they have that they are good people.
If they prosper in a just world then they are good. If you convince them the world is unjust then they have to grapple with being an awful person who has done and said awful things.
It’s virtually impossible to convince someone of that
It’s hard for me to understand how someone can be such a piece of shit.
Literally how he gets paid. He’s a man-child whose every act of petulance and grotesqueness fattens his wallet and raises his social media profile. The only reason he’s not filling the hole left by Charlie Kirk’s neck is because Nick Fuentes, Ben Shapiro, and JD Vance all scrambled in first.
The sad thing about the pandemic and the shift in the political scene is that waaaaay too many people are shitty this way. Not just rich people either. Being a shit human being has gone viral.
I just don’t get the “fuck you I got mine” mentality. There’s no empathy from these people. They think everyone who is poor made dumb choices and poor people should suffer for making those dumb choices. After all, just getting a job will sort everything right out according to conservatives, and getting a job is easy to them. They have never been affected by conditions that lead to poverty and it shows.
A lot of it has to do with an inflated view of one’s self and persecusion complex. Studies have shown that the more conservative one is the better off one thinks they will be. When the whole inheritance tax was being talked about all these poor conservtives thought some day they will be so well off the tax would affect them when in reality their lifetime gross income wouldn’t be enough if they saved it all. The whole “work hard and you will get everything” idea is burned into their brains inspite of reality.
When you then look at any achievement by these same people they make it out to be some crazy effort on their side. All hardships were the extreme and targeting them, in their warped view. They don’t realize their struggles were the same as everyone else and they were helped out in many ways that no one ever picks themselves up by their bootstraps.
So they have this “my life was the worst” and “i pulled myself up with no help” view of their lives that everyone else is just shit. In reality they are so delusional that even common decency is forign to them. Pile on that many are Christians if poor and narcissist and sociopaths if rich the complex grow many fold.
They have never been affected by conditions that lead to poverty and it shows.
But if you go somewhere like Idaho or Mississippi… They’re all fucking poor!! Everyone is poor! Everyone lives hand to mouth and depends on social safety nets like this. But if you’re proper homeless then fuck you, no you don’t deserve any help?
Blows my mind how entire self contained societies can all equally experience this kind of hardship and then instead of “I don’t want anyone else to suffer like we had to”, they instead conclude “I had to suffer like this, therefore everyone must suffer like this”.
It’s hard for me to understand how someone can be such a piece of shit. Like yeah, let’s let children starve for no reason at all.
It’s the Christian™ thing to do.

The funniest part is the stores and their suppliers are pushing for SNAP benefits in the interest of profits, so the profiteering is fighting itself.
I think they also genuinely enjoy it and believe somewhere in the future whoever is left will thank them for it
All the white kids who didn’t get replaced will thank him.
If these people were really against white people being “replaced”, why aren’t they against the development of AI?
I think it goes something like money > white > “one of the good ones (other)” > other

I think Chowder’s career is over after the video of him verbally abusing his pregnant wife came out.
So glad I don’t have to see that guy anymore.
Trump raped his wife* and became president.
*technically not rape because the law defined rape in a limited way at the time, kind of like how husbands were exempt in the past
Seems hate and rage bait channels are all the rage lately. Just cultivate more hate and bullshit. Good job america.
Because if you give a moron someone to look down on and they’ll empty their pockets for you

They have always been there. They just feel emboldened now.
emboldened AND empowered

You mean being lazy? Of course not. They’ll be the first to brag about how they work overtime or have more than 1 job to pay the bills.
/s, in case that want obvious.
