I’m fixing a Honda GX160 carburetor and noticed that the service manual doesn’t specify the gasket thickness anywhere.
Does anyone know what the correct gasket thickness is supposed to be for the GX160? And is gasket thickness actually important, or can I use any aftermarket set as long as it fits? I’m trying to understand whether the thickness affects anything.
Also, if anyone knows good sources for this kind of information, parts diagrams, technical bulletins, reliable aftermarket manuals, or even a trustworthy site where people have measured OEM gaskets—I’d appreciate any direction.
Thanks!

Gasket thickness typically don’t matter (within reason). An exception being in installs where a thick gasket or, more likely, a spacer is used to keep some engine heat away from the carburetor to prevent things like vapor lock.
I wouldn’t hesitate to use whatever is in the aftermarket kit as long as it fits well.
