Stop buying that shit!
You know what I just discovered? My phone has a laser right next to the camera and it is on all the time.
If you have an automatic shade welding helmet, all you gotta do is put it on and look at your phone. The shader will be blinking like at 60Hz going completely berserk and without doing a thing.
Your phone is basically a laser mapping system just measuring your house and sending Google the data.
Great. I’m still disgruntled by them restricting device-trees, AOSP development and app installation in the future.
Amazing how bad it has gotten just in 2025 alone. We had:
-play integrity api
-changing the monthly security patches into embargoed proprietary blobs
-not releasing device trees for 10 series
-holding back the source code of QPR releases
-the upcoming app installation lockdowns
I guess Pinephone with a 20k mAh powerbank taped to the phone starts looking pretty good…
Yeah, looks like a coordinated effort. They’re re-aligning other things as well. They also forfeited their pledge not to develop AI for weapons and surveillance. Joined that “age restriction” effort to collect people’s IDs. And I’ve seen a massive crackdown on Youtube, from ramping up advertisements, making it harder to circumvent these, or download videos, to what they pay to creators which has also reportedly changed substantially.
I guess Android is amongst the more annoying ones, because we all rely on smartphones and the operating system on there.
Release the device trees you cowards. 😡🤬
Release QPR1 source code first though it’s been 2 months 😭
(Or at the same time, that would be good too)
Not cowards, just greedy
But no battery share 😐
or device trees or headphone jacks or removable batteries or micro sd cards or sideloading or
That’s not specific to the Pixel 10 though.
all of those things are absent from the Pixel 10.
What I’m saying is those things are absent from the previous models too, but battery share was available in previous models. The 10 is the model where it was suddenly removed.
Or source code at this point, AOSP is still missing the 16 QPR1 release that came out for pixels at the beginning of September
