I’ve been struck eith the revelation that I may not be as hyperfocused as it seems because I notice I will hyperfocus and lose time in doing tasks or activities that encompass many small tasks. I’m not getting off task from the main task; but I am bouncing around unfocused between the mini-tasks that make up the whole thing.
Like with a video game, I tend to get stuck playing for hours on one game, but inside the game I keep getting distracted. Like playing Stardew Valley and on my way to town to collect a tool that has finished upgrading, I end up losing track of time in game fishing, foraging, and going in the dungeon before I realize it’s almost 4pm and the blacksmith is gonna close.
