Or have just enough hotels for how many tourists they want. Who cares if 3 billion people could and would visit Barcelona tomorrow. Nobody is obligated to build enough hotels for them.

Barcelona has 12 tourists per capita per year. They could easily do with a half of that.
You’re like 20y late with this joke. MS runs their servers on linux nowdays.
They already have WSL and their own Linux distro.
Give them another 5 years and they’ll have rewritten their core to sit on top of unix and will have become a simple commercial linux distro. When buying a windows laptop you will be able to click through 5 yes/no promts, unlock the terminal and yum -S gnome-desktop
to break free. No dual boot needed.
You know what’s the worst part? M$ will be the biggest contributor to the kernel. And that’s how linux will die.
Great. In order to prove your commitment to the cause, get to level 8 in dangerous dave.
If they smell, no way. A cuddly cat can be enjoyable
Your nostalgia is a bad reason for starting anything really. Most hopefully you won’t push your nostalgia on your children and force them to play outdated games.
It would be great if game developers would open source games when they sunset them, sure. But also this might make it impossible for them to make a remaster of the game and sell it.
You mention doom. But this is a 0.1% case. Thousands of games from that era vanished not because you cannot run them on modern hardware, but because they’re utter garbage by modern standards.
https://dos.zone/ exists, and you can play a lot of iconic games in your browser. What’s exactly the player count there? And those are the best games from that era.
Hugging friends – yes and easy. Snuggling – never. And this doesn’t apply only to men, it applies to women whom I don’t find attractive as well.
Physical affection from someone I don’t find attractive is super akward. Now I’m a cis straight male, so this principle applies to essentially all men.
P.S. OP, if you like more actual physical affection from your male friends, it’s maybe just time to come out of the closet. This is lemmy, nobody is really straight around here anyways
yep, a tiny boot error and suddenly you need to punch commands into initramfs. good luck with that headlessly.
If you’re degoogling, then just do that instead of freeloading on google services and complaining that they either have to monetize your data or shove ads down your throat.
Find a paid service free of any of that. There are multiple out there.
if you could so easily have done better, why didn’t you?
Or do you mean growing up in South Africa was a generational privilege you didn’t have access to?
I don’t think we need transformers and flying in doom tbh, but it looks like we’ll have to deal with it now.
Otherwise this joke on a hexen reboot is the ultimate meme of the reboot. And is much more intriguing than doing “doom eternal plutonia experiment”.
The ancient holy wars part of the lore that you read in sentinel prime is the most intriguing part of the doom guy’s story. Links back to seraphim too. Walking through sentinel prime and reading all those things I really felt like I’d like to have seen those days. Oh boy, here we come!
meh, they’ll learn that we like their hardware and their OS, but not their spyware. If everyone does that, you’ll see next thing they do is start cutting down the spying.
nice, thanks to you I have now educated myself: http://run-a-train.urbanup.com/77653
You have correctly identified that it’s not a lack of technological advancement that is holding our society back.
Now go solve social sciences, economics, psychology, and neuroscience. Come back and we’ll talk about how to design a world where nobody happens to install a motion sensor with a wrong range.
Because: 1) fairtrade, 2) less revenue from selling you a new device in two years once this one gets obsolete, 3) costs of long-term maintenance, 4) small volumes.
You ever compared a price of fairtrade coffee vs normal one? Yeah, x2. Why? No slave labor, no burned forests, sustainable water usage. But ofc, why would you buy it? It’s double the price.
Meh. I’d say we tie him to a post and burn the heretic.
wow, look at this welcoming community. 4/1 to this guy.
I understand, you democratically represent lemmy. Be happy in your echo chamber.
History is important, although more recent history books have better evidence and data than old ones. Literature, generally, ages well, although it’s mostly survival bias. A lot of it perishes without any loss to the society. Movies sorta age well. Again, only some. Games don’t age well.
