Well, I needed an example.
Well, I needed an example.
So it means we all get to be Spartacus.
You’re going to have to elaborate on both. I can’t imagine a far-right opinion I agree with.
ETA: I’m echoing the sentiments of centuries of COIN theory: brutal state response to protest only multiplies the numbers in the movement. And it’s so well known that tyrants and usurpers are fools to ignore the paradigm. And yet they do.
Honestly, I don’t know what, in a meme format, differentates a shitpost from a non-shitpost.
Yep. Saw it after I posted it.
ETA In full disclosure, it should be bystanders and sympathizers but I was in a hurry.
Note that Disney and Universal pirate other people’s stuff whenever they want.
Note also that all the Generative AI services are very protective of their big cistern of web-crawled data, say when China borrows it for DeepSeek.
Content, content everywhere and not a drop of principle.
I presume the point that you only need one methane source connection for two appliances that use it heavily.
So, an appliance for low-drag homesteads.
My first instance shut down permanently within days of my signing up. I believe it had sometime remotely doing with Russia suddenly deciding to invade Ukraine.
It really gave me that full cyberpunk experience.
I posted a post-deep-dive take on what gave Trump the presidency here, but I will say that misogyny did did no small amount of heavy lifting.
What we need to figure out before the GOP finds its next cult leader is how to neutralize the massive far-right propaganda machine that is churning out false information and disinforming the public.
We’ve decided before that ethically we can’t trust human beings to make sound decisions in some conditions. Gambling, for example. Sometimes humans get addicted to just giving the house their money when it’s coached in a probability game. But then we’ve just invented loopholes (and lootboxes) to circumvent regulation. So I don’t know how we’re going to deprogram massive viewerships of media that promotes hate, including misogyny.
If we fail then the ice zombie army climate crisis (and running out of water for agriculture) is going to drive us to extinction.
Whenever I see memes based on this comic, I remember the original and the creepy squicky feelings come right back.
I’d suggest a BDSM munch or a LUG at a cafe. Also writing groups.
I didn’t pay $15K but I got a new one. And then the gears were two low because it was a mountain bike and I had to install a custom touring drive train. (I’m having the same problem with my current e-bike, in that I run out of gears and e- at about 20mph.)
As a fellow gen-x, I had one in my early forties and again at fifty-seven!
Um, a deep dive into moral philosophy? No academic institutions were attached to it. I just read a lot.
I’m getting a paywall or adblock block or something. Anyone have a less problematic link to the article?
BMW and VW are the same beasts they were when they were backers of NSDAP in Germany.
Between the VW emissions cheating and BMW’s subscription car features, it seems their attitude towards commerce has not changed a jot.
Thought about this before. I’d build out the high-speed internet structure to encompass all the populated parts of the world (omitting coverage across large swaths of open sea) and provide free, no-questions-asked WiFi internet service to absolutely everyone.
(Yes, a lot of places don’t have devices, but parallel programs already exist to get people enabled on cheap devices)
The obstruction would be legal battles with current stakeholders that have regional monopolies and are very addicted to making odious profit. (Looking at you, Comcast, AT&T, Verizon, etc.)
Then let’s see Microsoft do this with full transparency and keep a publicly accessible list of forbidden words. Then evidence this is a general policy should be plain.
If your oath against genocide has any exceptions, it’s not an oath against genocide.
So long as one person is in danger from genocide, we all are in danger from genocide.
Sacramento Police department has a helicopter, Air One, that the department is super proud of. I live in a not-rich neighborhood where Air One likes to hang out and help which sometimes includes shouting inaudibly on the PA. Air One has its own webpage which is sometimes current about what it’s doing, but not always.
Air One also likes to fly low enough that we can hear the thumping of the rotors through our apartments. At 11pm on a school night. We know it doesn’t have to because the rescue choppers zing by quietly on their way.
And lately Air One has gotten, whinier. This loud screeee! that wasn’t their before that makes me thing something in the rotors is not sufficiently oiled, or something is about to fall apart. I wonder if Air One is soon going to make an unscheduled landing in my neighborhood.
