I’m waiting for the IOF to make a very public display of the apache gunners who shot indiscriminately at the festival, or the tank commanders firing indiscriminately at homes in the kibbutzim. Your argument falls flat when the Israeli army not only is killing thousands of civilians in Gaza (and are proud of it btw), but also their own citizens on Oct 7.
You’re absolutely right that there will be variance, and that each side has incentive to inflate death counts, etc. Other orgs will likely not produce their own numbers until after this mess is over. Check the Wiki pages or B’Tselem pages on previous assaults on Gaza to see how the numbers can vary, that’ll give you an idea at least.
Sorry, but I have been an advocate for Palestinian rights for years. I’m not just shilling out propaganda on the day of a massacre. As I type this, the confirmed death tolls have Israelis near 100 while Palestinian deaths are near double that. So if you want to start talking about massacres, just so far today Israel has caused more death, let alone the days, weeks, months, years and decades prior to today.
Point made. Sadly it’s true. Especially today as we spend trillions on technology designed to kill.
Killing - no matter the victim is inhuman.
Believing one side has the right to kill while the other must take it, is pretty gross.
“Slaughtering civilians in the streets” is precisely what the IDF does on the regular, just so you know. It’s hard to imagine any group of people would live under military occupation for 70+ years after being forced to leave their homes for refugee camps without the desire to fight for their freedom.
Okay I did it! I honestly don’t know the right way to link to communities so I hope this works. Let’s get it going: [email protected]
@[email protected] and @[email protected] you’re invited too!
To be quite honest I did not read through all the comments to see if this has been suggested already, but Child of Light comes to mind!
Ah, Hoi An. One of my favorite places in Vietnam. I will forever cherish the memories my wife and I made there. Made friends with the lady that ran the hostel we were at, she gave us the most precious gifts when we left. I look forward to visiting her again.
No kidding! Maybe I will look into starting one…
I’m a fellow mandolin player! Couldn’t believe what I just read haha. There isn’t typically too many of us making ourselves known in places like this
I’ll take the chance.
Bad ass. Can you fly me to my appointment later?
You’re 2035 years old? Wild…
I finally committed myself to getting BitWarden set up, maybe a year ago. I wish I had done it sooner. I use it to generate all my passwords, and I have it installed on my phone and desktop. I love remembering only one password and knowing all my other passwords are secure. For me it’s a no-brainer.
This is an absolutely striking photo. It has such intensity. Love it
I’ve been using Connect for Lemmy and I really like it!
I think you nailed it. The more we can harness the “fuck Reddit” energy, the better we can focus on creating what we wish we had there, here. Don’t forget the parts of Reddit you despised. That’s what we will avoid here. Let’s make this a place we all love!
Fuck do I ever relate to this. I probably have over 200 titles in my Steam library that I redeemed from Humble Bundles and have never installed. Insane.
