I completely agree.
It’s a weird analogy, but it reminds me a lot of t-shirts with funny text on them. When they originally took more effort to make, someone wearing a shirt that just said “got milk?” or “talk to me after I’ve had my coffee” was considered pretty creative and funny. Now that they can be churned out at will with any image you want (you could literally screenshot our conversation and order a shirt that would be here by the weekend.), it cheapens them to the point that it’s a less desired thing to make in general.
I dropped it in the body of the post for reference so that people finding this later can follow.
It was this one:

Nice one, lol. I tacked this on to the post too.
Perfect. I can replace the old one with this!
Would you please edit and toggle the NSFW tag on (b/c of the gore)?
You just want my watch. You can’t fool me!

What an honor!
It makes me wonder if the alcohol is to distract you. Lol

19·29 天前if you excuse the trek reference.
I’ll always excuse a trek reference.

In the 70s, it’s probably just a given.

RetroGaming@lemmy.world•Did you know that PAC-MAN was originally PUCK-MAN? It was changed when it came to NA due to worries that the "P" would be too easy to vandalize on arcade cabinets.English

16·30 天前The Japanese pronunciation is why they wanted to call him Puck-Man! It’s apparently from a Japanese onomatopoeia for a mouth opening and closing, “Paku Paku”

2·1 个月前Lol, thank you. I had just been getting reports.
In the future, the spoiler tag works like this in text (I’m on the Voyager app, and this is how it sets up the tag. Using a screenshot so that the format is visible)

Lol if I see one at Goodwill some day, I’ll know it was you.
