cause and effect was my first episode ever. I still remember how cool it was

it depends on the person you want to introduce to Star Trek.
My first episode was cause and effect, when I was maybe 15 years old. I loved it and immediately wanted more.
but these days honestly I would choose something from SNW, something that does not require too much previous knowledge. Through the Lens of Time or maybe Charades if they want something lighter.

schools in my area already do this without any major issue. Kids put them in their locker when they arrive. If anyone is caught with one it is taken and the parents need to come to get it

most EV chargers can be locked so only you can use them (normally with a RFID or BLE tag).
Also, having chargers in apartment parkings is absolutely viable. it is more expensive to install than in a house. Not sure about the US but where I live (Spain) I know people that have them without issues

I think the issue is that it becomes an everything or nothing. some people want to give apps access to their own documents but don’t realize their are also giving access to things like their chat messages, cookies, etc.
If they aim to provide a more granular approach while still allowing full access to those that need it, Im ok with that

there is a big argument on this reporting to be nonesense.
But if it has any truth to it, we should see it as previous generation failing on gen z, not them being dumb.

EVs are perfectly fine, even with current charging speeds. the problem is not fast charging but AC charging coverage. everyone should be able to charge their cars at home or work.
The thing with charging times is mostly anxiety based on fear of the unknown rather than anything tangible

Barcelona has great public transit and quite a decent bike lane network. I have no idea why people use cars in Barcelona.

I will be so pissed off when a democrat is elected and every single EU country will try to go back to business as usual

such a charming person you are

brands find a way to keep that sweet recurrent income. you need to take it in for diagnosis, checks and filter changes for them to uphold warranty
What’s Love Got To Do With It by Tina Turner. Not bad, not bad.

“Warning, Military Software Detected. Top secret clearance required”.
I loved hearing that every time

because you are clearly minimizing the impact of AI crawlers. sites don’t go from 1000 page requests /day to 10,000. I’ve seen sites going from 50~100 request per minute to 10.000 request per minute and they are mostly bots. no matter how efficient your site is, if the server cannot manage the connections it does not matter whether the content is cached or not.
And caching does not solve everything because many cloud providers charge for it, so even if you could potentially deliver them, it suddenly becomes too expensive to do so.
as mexican, we are not greedy. just give back what they stole
I would really like to be the case more often. I’m a cheese eating vegetarian and I have to look on the ingredients every time I buy cheese. Some brands will even switch from animal to microbial rennet and viceversa within the same product without warning.
it’s curious that the US does not observe it in that day since the events that commemorates it happened in Chicago, during a series of protests for a 8 hour work day.
But of course, that is not accident. They put a lot of effort in framing workers’ movements as a communist plot. At one point they even instituted a “loyalty day” on 1st of May to counteract any labour movement.

AI is inherently bad. It might be useful, but their externalities are quite inherent to it.
alt title: their losses are $20bn larger than expected
