Yeah his argument is dumb - if you don’t like a particular sub or how it is run, you can (or could), create a new one. This new move by reddit makes that pointlesss- literally saying if they don’t like how you run it, they’ll take it over. How is that ‘democratic’?
My guess is that this was the plan all along - move fast so mods are forced to pick a side and sadly I think many will stick with reddit.
Horrible move but it looks like a lot of subs are going to roll over and take it - I guess this was always the plan and that reddit figures its better to move quickly to prevent protests taking hold.
Hoping more will break away and move here instead but not expecting a mass exodus.
I closed my twitter last year because Elon is a scumbag, I’ll happily do the same on reddit.
There’s an awful lot of TERRBILE ‘information’ on there though. What we don’t need are thousands of posts from idiots who don’t know what a torrent is, what a seeder is, what ddl is, why they receieved a warning notice, or a those idiotic ‘why I pirate’ shitposts.
