I still dont understand how people think its fine seeing ads everywhere they look. What is in their minds…
It makes the world ugly. Real ugly.
Long time linux user and tinkerer. Currently working as a devops engineer. Very positive to the idea of decentralized internet platforms. :)

Because people want to watch something that makes them feel good… Real life doesnt have beautiful doctors with perfect bodies, hair and makeup either. And the light is not turned down and romantic. Lols.
And I kind of like the story. Imagine if you actually had a genius doctor that would always be right. The hospital wouldnt fire him, or maybe they would, if they dont care if patients get better. In real life, maybe more money in keeping them sick.
I think we actually get to understand now how Hitler came to power. I remember in school, I was mystified how such an hateful man could become a leader of a country. Now I understand.
History will most likely repeat itself and humanity needs a big war to once again remember what hate leads to.
It just sucks for the ones who already learned that lesson from basic history.
I think we are wasting our lives to a certain degree. As kids, we expected more from life than sitting in front of a computer to feed the family. And sitting at a computer is seen as one of the “good” jobs.
Having government confirm age of users is the beginning of having to use a real id to use the internet. Thats the wet dream of governments and big tech, but its a total nightmare for privacy and discussing things without your real name being known.
Just watch linkedin and see how discussions are extreamly limited there, since people dont want to discuss sensitive things in front of others using their real name.
Its hard to know online but yeah, I was.
Lets have another peaceful protest, it will work this time.
Now we are debt slaves instead. Success.
Sounds exactly like what we do at Lemmy.today.
That specific part you said, about letting users decide, is the core idea of the entire instance and has been from the start.
But check out all options before you decide. The Lemmy network needs many different instances to stay strong.
It doesnt matter if they reach any end result, as long as stocks go up and profits go up.
Consumers arent really asking for AI but its being used to push new hardware and make previous hardware feel old. Eventually everyone has AI on their phone, most of it unused.
Maybe you didn’t see that I wrote fee, not free. :)
Land of the fee.
People who read Forbes do.
I think large parts of humanity still desires enormous amount of money and are willing to spend their lives focusing on it.
It’s because money gives what people actually want - safety, respect, admiration, power, freedom etc.
I registered and I felt the same as you. Not worth my time.
Haha yeah. Well I’m an arch user for at least a decade, and i saw manjaro come… It was very popular in the beginning. Then they started making strange decisions, but I think many people are still happy with it. Otherwise I think endevourOS is doing good. :)
I haven’t seen Linux users fights over distros… Ever. We just have lots of choices, and most of them are awesome.
Such a chad move. Respect!
I don’t use Google anymore except for Google maps in my car. :) I guess they can spy on where I’m driving. But no search history.
Not those others! :)
