Looks very relaxing and peaceful. Some of my favorite camping trips have been in the eastern Sierras.

$6.4B for HashiCorp on the heels of $4.6B for Apptio and $34B for Red Hat back in 2018. I wonder how long until they expect each of these acquisitions to be accretive?
Recently moved over to porkbun after dealing with a couple billing issues with namecheap and not getting the best customer service. Been pretty happy so far.
Kyoto is a magical city, rain or shine
The music alone is 🔥
That’s awesome. Loved JSRF, used to play it just for the soundtrack
Silent wind of doom is a nice callback. A Muscular Beaver attack would’ve been funny too
If I remember correctly it rapid fired bullets
A Shelby Cobra should be enough to stop them
I’m glad you guys took a measured approach. This right here is the difference between a corporation and Lemmy. I can’t imagine a for-profit reversing its decision in the interest of the community unless it affected their bottom line or stock price. Hats off to the admin team for working through all these complex issues.
This looks pretty cool. A Fate game set in the Edo period with samurai. So far reviews seem positive, might have to check this one out
Not surprising. Everyone should be wary of what they share online and not expect that companies will respect their privacy. That said, I wish it weren’t so and training AI with our data seems dystopian
Hakko or Weller are usually well recommended
Good reminder to do this for my personal sites. Wonder if they’re scraping the fediverse for data to train on now that reddit started to clamp down on its API
Thanks for explaining your reasoning. I’m of the opinion that it’s better to defederate, mainly for the reasons your post already covers, but I’d stress the quality of content is/will be Lemmy’s biggest asset. I think many users (myself included) are on Lemmy to get away from the existing social media experience. Lemmy/fediverse is refreshing because it isn’t governed by a mandate to grow quarterly profits at its users’ expense; it feels like the internet in the late 90s and early 00s where people made content because it interested them rather than trying to garner views or promoting the most polarizing/inciting content (or even just downright trolling). I hope the admins can see what the risks are and take proactive steps in the interest of the community.
Lots of friendships ended because of Joust. Worth it.
Bought an Amish made Clipper reel lawnmower. Built like a tank and cuts smooth. Never needs gas or electricity, just roll it out and go. No noxious fumes, loud motor noise, or dodgy lithium battery. Makes yard work less of a chore.
Persona 5 is my jam. Liked it so much I bought it on vinyl. Nier Automata is good too, more haunting and lends to the game’s mood/ambience. I think Firewatch is like this too. Jet Set Radio Future and Persona 3 are also really groovy.
All the video games magazines would do an E3 issue and I remember binging on all the game announcements and event photos. Good times
