  • I use commafeed it’s open source and free and super useful. I have news sites I follow but I also added food blogs I like to save the sites. In this AI world now, I have started to self cultivate my feeds. I would admit I’m addicted to the scroll but since deleting reddit and twitter, and never on Instagram, the rss feed is useful to stay updated on stuff and get my scrolling fix still

I wish more things would use NFC. My mom has old bluetooth speaker from like 10 years ago or older, even I dunno, but it has NFC tap to connect, and it’s so convient. I dunno why more bluetooth devices don’t have tap to connect. Like others have said, NFC is mostly used in the states for contactless payments and stuff, which is convient but I mostly just tap with my card, not even pulling out my phone since I always have my wallet on me.

  • YT music is way better than Spotify. But some AI stuff is reccomeded .I haven’t used Spotify in probably almost a decade. I used to use Play music back in the day and got in the habit of downloading albums and uploading them I used a different service since google nuked play music and revived in as yt music.

But downloading and building your own music library you cultivate is the only way to vett music sources and ensure you aren’t listening to slop

  • I think it’s a combination of many things from social media, to the lackluster economy.

In many ways technology has made us less human and less tolerable of other people. We are becoming like the humans from Wall-E where they are content to eat and watch slop all day, even losing the ability to walk and think because the machines can do it for them. We are becoming mean, self absorbed blobs!

All this technology has made our lives so frictionless and easy. Everything can be done with our phones that in many people’s minds humans are “obsolete”. Which I disagree with, but I’m not better too. I struggle with making friends and maintaining connections, it’s so hard but it’s something I would want to change as well. I guess it’s just a sign of the times, and zoomers, hell other generations too need to try our hardest to connect with our fellow humans.

I was on sub stack and some put it perfectly: " We must resist the pull of the machine." And that’s the struggle being human today and why making human connection is so hard. Our machines are so designed to be so alluring that we must fight against it to stay human.
