Yeah I’ve definitely run into issues where case sensitivity causes problems. Especially in programs that are cross-functional between Windows and Linux. Like when I recently downloaded some bios files for a Playstation emulator and I spend time figuring out and troubleshooting why they weren’t working until it finally hit me the door McFly it’s cause the file name was in lowercase not uppercase. Yeah I agree that car dependent suburbs are a problem and car brainedness is an issue in North America, but these fake stories are kind of laughable.

Ive lived in suburbs and cities all over NY state and this story is funny. I’d probably be able to get to like 3 or 4 regional groceries (not cosco) in 5-10 minutes or to a gas station with good prices on eggs and milk in 2-5 minutes. Ive been to orlando so I know the OP isnt entirely untrue, but Ive lived in plenty of places where I’d be there and back again before the city guy gets to the bottom of the elevator/stairs. The weirdos crusading against bloat helped keep distros light weight and performant decades on. It allowed a linux distro to fly on older hardware that was bogged down by newer linux versions. The legacy to this day is that WMs like KDE can actually be fairly light weight and there is still attention paid to not using a lot of resources.

Yes you can still run a KDE based distro with 2gigs of ram, but as soon as you open your web browser and visit the modern internet the dozen high definition images that load in and videos and javascript.

The majority that the Dems had was very slim not enough to get a lot passed especially when the “majority” included “moderates” like Manchin and Sinema.

I agree the Dems and libs suck. If they werent so smugly sure that clinton would win 2016 they would have not played politics and forced in their supreme court pick and we would have less of a minority.

yeah ntsf doesnt play nice with linux version of steam that was almost definitely the issue.

Hardware is a big factor in this. Mint in particular is a stable distro based on the ubuntu LTS so it’s slow to get new kernels and you need a ppa to get a fresher mesa install and this is essential for newer amd hardware. Conversely if you’re on a rolling bleeding edge distro and you rely on nvidia and their closed drivers then you’re often one update away from breaking them.

Before I realized you could install as user and have it install on your home drive I just symlinked the install directory where i wanted to.

If you just clicked the video you’d see the first image is a disclosure mentioning that this kind of case is uncommon and explaining the circumstances in which you should seek medical attention.

Overall I dont see why putting all the facts in a headline makes it more or less responsible. You want to know the story then watch it. It’s not like the story is misleading or wrong, and his video in particular is pretty thorough in going over exactly whats happening and why.

Its not a bait and switch and chubby emu especially goes into detail explaining exactly what happens with a disclaimer at the beginning citing the journal this came from and explaining that this is uncommon but if you do show symptoms after licking to seek medical help and mention you have pets.

Yeah and AI is pretty useful for doing certain things. For example my pixel can turn on subtitles for any video or audio playing and even translate it for me on the fly. AI isnt blockchain and it isnt all chatgtp or making images with too many fingers. People are talking about improving web standards as if whatever ai stuff google,MS, and apple are cooking up wont be used in order to enhance various web features.

Likewise firefox is currently a good browser and does keep up for the most part. I’d understand the criticisms if firefox was suck in 2009, but modern day firefox is fast and works well and they will likely continue keeping up with standards while an independent team works on the open source AI stuff

I do believe that cities should be better designed in order to be walkable and have reliable and accessible public transit that connects the world. Likewise north america car dependency and urban planning is a blight. Sunbelt cities which grew up around car planning are awful to navigate compared to the older boned cities where you can just fly/bus/train/drive into and then hoof it on foot.

That said I think I got about as far as you did in the article and it was hard to keep reading because it’s based on such extreme fallacies and then continues to double and triple down on them. This kind of rhetoric either lacks self awareness or is designed just to preach to the choir of your own side. I cant imagine anyone reading this and having their mind changed.
