I’d be fine with ads and even paying if the creators weren’t treated like trash and the number of ads weren’t ridiculously obtrusive.
Since the fediverse is protocol and standards based it has potential. Email is ubiquitous.
How would you even use discord for that stuff? It sounds way harder than just using the proper tools.
